As an avid golfer, I've had the privilege of playing on many courses, but Puerto Los Cabos in Los Cabos, Mexico, stands out as a truly exceptional experience. This 27-hole golf resort, with its breathtaking blend of desert and ocean landscapes, offers an unparalleled golfing adventure.
The course's design is a masterpiece, with the combined genius of Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus evident in every hole. Playing here, you're treated to a visual feast, with over 70% of the course boasting stunning views of the Sea of Cortez. The fairways and greens are impeccably maintained, ensuring a top-notch golfing experience.
What sets Puerto Los Cabos apart is its unique blend of challenging golf and exceptional amenities. The course features several holes that touch the ocean, offering awe-inspiring views and a serene atmosphere that enhances your game. Additionally, the course ascends into the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, providing a varied terrain that keeps every game interesting and challenging.
The culinary experience is another highlight. With taco bars strategically placed along the course, you can indulge in amazing local cuisine, fresh guacamole, and a range of delicious cocktails. This addition not only adds to the overall enjoyment but also provides a delightful taste of local culture.
The recent addition of the Nicklaus II Course has further enhanced the club's reputation, offering subtly contoured greens, large bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes. The new course starts with a links-style opening hole and ends with a spectacular stretch of holes that showcase some of the most dramatic views on the property.
Puerto Los Cabos is more than just a golf course; it's a comprehensive experience that combines sport, nature, and culture. The inclusion of the culinary palapas, is a thoughtful touch that makes your experience here...

Overall a pretty good course. We played the mission which has spectacular views and the Ocean 9s. The greens were in good shape but the fairways and surroundings could be a bit better taken care of to make it a truely 4 to 5 star review. Course was a bit wet despite no rain for a while so not sure if it's growing season or not and they just wanted to get the grass growing. The refreshment houses were great for food and hospitality but would have been perfect if the liquor quality for tequila was a touch better. As a visitor there were 2 things that I found pretty dissapointing which is why the review is not higher.
The proshop offers only 4 types of golf balls for purchase and all callaway. In 36 years of playing golf I've never seen a proshop carry almost 0 golf balls for purchase. Secondly when u pay almost 400 to play and then purchase rentals you expect pretty good rental sets from a top club. All the clubs had worn grips and were second rate. It was hard to hold onto the clubs with no grip and that's dissapointing when u pay so much to play.
There's a lot of potential at the club and courses given the views and course lay out but to be like a 4.5 or 5 star there are definitely a few things that...
Read moreTough review to write. We (10 golfers + 1 rider) played the Ocean 9 and the Vista 9 on Monday. We had 3 tee times - 12:30, 12:40 & 12:50. We paid $2,000 USD for the 10 green fees + $650 for 10 rentals + $45 for 1 single rider! So we're into them for about $2,700. We show up about half hour early and don't see anyone in front of us, yet we can't tee off any earlier. We also can't drive any of the carts to the palapas to get a drink. The girls checking us in were rude, inflexible and have no business being in customer service roles. Additionally, when we finally are cleared to go to the 1st tee, beforehand our entire group of 11 is "lectured" about "all the things that will get us immediately kicked off the course". The 2 courses we played were great; challenging, in excellent shape, nice layout and beautiful views. The palapas were fantastic; shrimp and carne asada tacos were outstanding. The bartenders and chefs were excellent. Even though the golf was great and food was good, I won't play this course again nor would I recommend it to anyone. The clubhouse staff is terrible and "all the course rules" will try and suck all the fun from your...
