We ended up at this Hotsprings as the one we wanted to go to, La Gruta, was closed when we got there. Without having researched Escondido we werenāt sure what to expect and signage is not great for where to go once you have paid your entrance fee (150 pesos). There is one large sign to your left when you walk in, right by the little store, but after looking at it we were still unsure where to go. We found the first 2 cool pools by continuing down the path on the left and then the only other thing we saw were ponds in middle. Only by asking others in the pool (there was no one from the resort around at all the day we went) did we figure out that the Hotspring pools were further down the path from the cold pools. When you see the closed domes just above the ground and the towel hook rack you have reached them. Once we got to go into the covered hotspring pools it was quite relaxing and we enjoyed them. The pretty glass tiles that comprised part of the domed roof let through some sunlight so it wasnāt too dark inside. Our takeaways were: bring your own towels, locks, and flip flops and arrive in the morning before the crowds come in the afternoon. Beyond the hotspring pools there is a path to another set of cold pools that ends in a domed space as well. We found it quite refreshing to go between the hot and cold pools. The restaurant was unfortunately closed when we were there , although there is a vending machine that sells cold drinks near the entrance. There is no wifi, so we had to ask the person at the front entrance to call us a taxi. It took about 20 minutes for the taxi to come. If we had known ahead of time that there was no wifi we would have arranged for our Uber driver who dropped us off to pick us back up. We were there for about 4 hours and without any food that was long enough for us to enjoy the Hotsprings and then leave to get a bite to eat. We went on a Wednesday...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe main reason why Iām giving it 2 stars is because every worker that I encountered was rude for better lack of word. They have No hospitality training nor do they inform you of anything after I asked questions of where or if they had certain things I was told to go to the main entrance where all there is is a Map of the property. I also asked at reception for what they offered at the spa and the man attending was more interested in what he had going on his computer and just thru a paper my way with stickers covering up original prices with new prices that were barley legible. With that being said I opted out for any king of spa activity. The price is of 190$ pesos per person and you can take your own food to picnic or bar b q. When we finally found the hot baths after walking by lots of kiddy pools itās was 3 of them and they were ok it echos since itās closed in some shapes and everything echos extra loud and thereās lots pf people so you can imagine. All in all this is a relatively inexpensive water activity to go to if you have a large family and take your own food and also if you have little children and after dealing with them all day you can escape for a couple of minutes to the dome hot waters. If your looking for a actual relaxing hot spa getaway...

There are few lakes as well where you can see fishes , lotus, turtle etc. One can feel peace amongst nature and can spend multiple hours in the pools or sitting by side. There is locker system available to keep your belongings, changing rooms, shower rooms, one shop, one restaurant and 1 place for body massage. Don't fall for the body massage trap. There is a lady named Leticia who informed us about couple body massage. We booked for 11am and told we might be 15mins late. She was absolutely fine with that. But when we arrived at 11:10 am we were told body massage time will be reduced to 20mins instead of 30mins. Also they were supposed to do head, neck, back and leg massage. But both for me and my husband they didn't do head or leg massage. So except the spa everything is good here. And honestly the massage was also not good enough for relaxing. So in case you are planning to go to Escondido palace I should suggest go ahead and enjoy keeping in mind about the massage spa trap and...
