We visited Aktun Ha aka the Car Wash cenote today. Unfortunately, the water wasn’t very clear. We snorkeled around the cenote’s perimeter, which had the best views, but still only saw a few fish. There were some turtles resting outside the water near the far end of the cenote, but we never saw any while snorkeling. There are two jumping platforms and a few areas to sit or place your things. Overall, we felt the cenote was on the smaller side, probably handling 30-40 people comfortably. We also have been living in Mexico for a year and a half, and we have residency cards. There are discounts for Mexican residents, Yucatecan locals, etc. My husband didn’t see the pricing board as he was buying tickets. The transaction wasn’t complete when I mentioned the discounts. Since the employee had already put the band on him, she said it was too late. Again, the transaction wasn’t complete. We gave cash but hadn’t received change back. She did process my entry as a resident. But, those types of incidents are just a little frustrating. Wish it hd been a better...
Read moreSuch an awesome cenote! We ended up spending the whole day here. 300mxn/person is worth it for this lovely gem. The crowd is really manageable, specially if it spreads out around the lake. There are toilets, cute tables where you can have your snack, a beautiful wooden walkway around the lake, a 3m jumping platform, wooden chairs where you can read and sunbathe. The cenote itself is just full of fish and smaller turtles. The water is 7m deep, super clean, and wonderful in the daylight. There are a lot of divers (at some point more than the swimmers), but they don't bother anybody. You can buy some stuff here like snacks and coconuts and there is also a lunch booth, but it didn't seem to be operating. The staff is super nice too. Really...
Read moreI give 4/5 stars because the entrance fee is 300 pesos (as of October 2022) .. but like all cenotes in Tulum..the prices seem to have all hiked from what other reviewers said earlier this year or last year. However, the cenote itself was gorgeous.. crystal clear water, fish, turtles and even a very small crocodile! There is plenty of shade to relax in, and a great jumping platform that is very fun. It's probably perfect for families, as it seems very safe. The space is well maintained. Overall, great place to spend s few hours. Restaurant and bar on site, as well as toilets and showers. Lifejackets are...
