On August 26 9:30 am Here my story about Costa Maya... I probably should have book my first shore excursion Through carnival Mayan ruins Chacchoben and beach. It probably been alot cheaper what we have done I switched last minute to golf cart that would be pretty cool see our own way. I don't reserve a golf cart with port. I was hoping we did a last minute one. So the first one near by port golf cart rental was booked and second one I couldn't find the guy to help us. And I know the. This company out of the port.. last minute golf cart I wouldn't recommend it. We walk out the port we there sign golf cart...and I told the we want to rent one. I did get a golf cart 4 setter, no deposit, we didn't sign a paper, so we supper excited we got a last minute. So so the guy was telling where to go and how to do it I think we're going to get lost. It was nice enough to have a girl to lead us to the beach which that was pretty nice of them. Once you get to the beach they will hook you up with a restaurant in the restaurant kind of expect you to stay and eat and spend money why you are at the beach.. the food was overpriced, drinks were good with their pricey. The beach was pretty good but they have a certain section of the beach is net off for that particular restaurant or resort. High aggressive vendor selling on thing ever 5 min. I luckily I missed this part every 5 minutes of vendor selling cuz I was getting a massage for that 30 minutes. The boardwalk was pretty cool well seeing on the stores shoreline people hustling you. And then we're on our way back to the port we stopped with couple of pharmacies on the way to port and our golf cart broke down side the main high way with a dead battery. Luckily we had our cruise passengers volunteer to ride with back to the port
For a last minute golf cart 80 bucks for we had 4 hours. So we left it at the pharmacy until then we told security guard by the gate and too pick up.
Now we have a story to tell everybody that Costa Maya have a screwed us not once but twice. But I should have with my first shore excursion choose. We had okay time but we learn and experience to be smarter near...
Read moreI reserved and paid deposit in advance for 6 pax golf cart. They warning only maintain reservation one hour a half after cruise arrive to port. Ship arrived 8:30 am and immediately I sent them a txt msg confirming I arrived to the port and be there at 10:00 am, they replied and answered ok. On my route I couldn’t find the place and sent another txt msg, they replied to my msg and provided clear information how to find them. I arrived to the site 10:08 am but they said because I arrived after 10:00 am they rented golf cart to another customer and no more 6 pax available. I was very dissapointed because all the time I already keep contact with them confirming I’ll rent car and also I paid in advance the reservation, why not wait only 8 minutes if they knew I was lost? Anyway I took 2 golf cart 4 pax each one (spent more money) but no happy at all, both old vehicles and one of them had issues each time trying to reverse it, when I returned and complained with same person had the inconvenience in the morning he said maybe I was nervous or without experience driving golf cart and could not do it correctly. But thats not the case because I drove the other old golf cart and did not have issues with reverse. My brother in law rented a golf cart same day from another rental company located next to them and told me any issue at all, maybe next time I will try to rent golf cart with that company. I put an additional star because the other employees...
Read moreWhat a great local business! The company provided instructions on how to get out of the port --that was extremely helpful because the port is like a giant maze, I've taken several cruises and haven't seen anything like it. The walk to the port security gates was perfectly fine--sidewalks, clean area, safe. At the port security gate, we told the guard who we were looking for and he pointed us to the Mayahual guy and even called his name. From there we took a short golf cart ride (@ 90 seconds) to the business where we greeted with drinks. You have leave your ship card as collateral/ID which turned out fine. They give you a map and show you were to go and some of the beach restaurants offer free appetizers if you have the Mayahual golf cart (the restaurants are easy to find, there's a guy in front of the restaurant flagging you down). We were not good map readers so we didn't find all the spots but we were also having a lot of fun just driving and seeing the sites so we weren't paying much attention to the map. I have never rented a golf cart for an excursion before but had so much fun and such a good experience that I will definitely look...
