San Luis is the anchor of Sonora's most geographically separated area in the north east of the state of Sonora. It borders internationally with the state of Arizona, USA, it also borders at the same time and space, with California, USA. On the Mexican side it borders with northern Baja California, Mexico. Making this a fighting community that prides itself, as an independent town not being completely acknowledged by either governments of Sonora nor Northern Baja California.
