I recently had the opportunity to visit the Dunes Mall in Walvis Bay during my honeymoon in April this year. As we arrived in Walvis Bay aboard the MSC ship, The Orchestra, the mall was conveniently located just a 20-minute drive from the harbor.

Getting to the mall was effortless as we used one of the friendly taxis, known for their hospitality towards tourists. Situated in the city center of Walvis Bay, the Dunes Mall offered a quiet and pleasant shopping experience.

The mall had a good selection of stores, allowing us to find everything we needed. Whether it was shopping for essentials or indulging in some retail therapy, we found the mall to be a convenient destination. Additionally, it had a decent variety of dining options, making it a great place to grab a bite to eat or have lunch.

One thing that particularly impressed us was the accessibility of currency. We found Namibian dollars available at the ATMs, providing ease of transactions. Alternatively, we were also able to use our South African Rands for purchases, making it convenient for tourists.

The ablution facilities at the mall were clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. It showed the mall's commitment to providing a pleasant experience for its visitors. Furthermore, finding parking was a breeze as there was ample space available, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

We had a genuinely enjoyable time at the Dunes Mall, and it left a positive impression on us. The friendly atmosphere, variety of stores, and ease of accessibility made it a memorable visit. We are already planning to return next year, as our experience was so delightful.

Dunes Mall in Walvis Bay is a fantastic, modern shopping destination that offers everything you need in one convenient location. The mall is clean, well-organized, and has a wide variety of stores, making it a great stop whether you’re a local or a traveler.

One highlight of my visit was the MTC store inside the mall. As a traveler, getting connected quickly is always a priority—and the staff at MTC were outstanding. They helped me set up a travel SIM card with ease, explained all the available data and airtime options clearly, and ensured everything was working before I left the store. Friendly, efficient service that made a big difference to my trip.

Dunes Mall also features great food options, secure parking, and clean facilities, making it an ideal place to cool off, stock up, or simply relax.

A horrible experience we received last week, stopped by to get some groceries at Pick n pay , took literally 30 minutes & went out to our vehicle all windows wide open. They took our handbags which had our passports inside. The security were very rude didn’t not want to assist till we went to the nearest gas station to ask for the directions to the nearest police station which we were told that its pointless to open a case since we foreigners as we won’t be around to attend that specific case but what we can do is to come the next day to check the lost & found and We went back the next day as we were told , with hope that we will be lucky to get them ( passports)back but still there was nothing.
