You can reach milford sound by plane and land at Milford sound airport which is one of the most scenic airports I have seen in my life. The planes can only land by flying out to the ocean and then approach the airport by flying through the milford sound. In a way this flight is also a sightseeing flight. Very difficult approach for a pilot.

Such a beautiful landing strip carved in the middle of the sound. It’s a pretty short runway but for the size of planes coming in, it’s no issue. There is no public restroom or anything so make sure to use one at the cruise port assuming you’re coming for a tour. They have a helicopter pad as well as multiple spaces for airplane parking.

It was beautiful and picturesque moving through the sound in a ship. It's the best way to see it all. New Zealand is amazing and such a wonderful place to holiday in.
