Our son has been working with Jennifer and Melaine over the past year, and we have seen and experienced a significant improvement in his understanding and expression of structured literacy from where he started. With learning challenges our son's path to learning has been difficult, and yet Jennifer and Mel, have allowed him to find the confidence to progress in his work at school, and confidence within himself.
This is evidenced in his most recent reading and literacy standards where he has been fairly stagnant in progression, to having a noticeable improvement, meaning we feel confident that he can surpass recent expectations.
Whilst the opportunity to invest in your child can come as a compromise to other things, we are so pleased for our son, so much so, that we have doubled down into structured math on alternate weekends.
We look forward to our son's further improvement here and ongoing success in literature. We highly recommend Literacy Steps, and would recommend Jennifer, Melaine and the team's approach...
Read moreMy son who is 10 is below average with English literacy. I’m so glad I met Jennifer and I am so glad that she was able to find time to help him.
I would describe Jennifer as an angel. She has helped build my son’s confidence in learning and getting him to be excited to learn and I have never seen that before with him. In a few short months I have seen a huge improvement in his development and I couldn’t be happier. It’s all thanks to Jennifer. Not only does she have a natural way to communicate with kids to keep them interested but she is also committed to going the extra mile, using much of her own time creating a file for each individual child’s need and finding specific resources to use for that child. I was blown away by this. Her love for what she does and her dedication to helping my child get over the line is something I will always be grateful for. Thank...
Read moreWe’ve recently engaged the services of Literacy Steps for our 12 year old son (Year 8). He has ADHD and we recently discovered that he is dyslexic. My son went for a comprehensive assessment with Jenni, so that a she could get a proper understanding of where he is at and what his needs are. We’ve had him at tutoring before, however it was a brushstroke approach - not tailored to his particular shortfalls. Jenni has been nothing short of amazing. The time with my son is targeted and effective. She keeps him engaged and for the first time we feel like there’s actual progress. The big thing for us is that we have no pushback from him - he is more than happy to head to the lessons and shares his learnings with us eagerly after. Needless to say, we are very happy and excited...
