Lets be honest, the airport itself is pretty awful. Yes it is being rebuilt, and thankfully so. Since my last experience at Nelson, I have joined Koru Club. The lounge is small, but despite this I was very impressed with the staff, very helpful. The seating is fairly dated (hence 4) but comfortable, and given the new terminal is ready in a few weeks I would expect the new lounge to be upgraded as well. The food was really nice, and always plenty of it. The lounge did get crowded, but I went outside and there was not a seat to be had in the terminal (12:30pm on a Sunday), so all in all a very good experience. Read moreNelson Baggage Services butchered my bag, and are extremely difficult to work with to get a suitable replacement or a refund with Tennessee of paperwork and emails receipts bank screenshots photos forms etc to provide and then so much back and forth as a result of them mandhandling your bag. Beware! This bag has been handled by airports around the world, without a mark but Nelson Baggage Services managed to destroy it. They will not offer suitable alternatives. They are extremely difficult to work with to resolution.

They completely ignored me. Minutes later, someone arrived with a pet, and suddenly the staff had all the time in the world to chat and play with the dog.
