The charges on the website were not clearly advertised, and after I called to address my concern I was not given any real help. I also noted to them the fact that the extra they would like to charge on top of their listed price could be entirely negated if I used a booking website such as wotif or expedia. At this point they made it clear they would not budge despite this being their issue. Price advertised on their website $150 twin share, price on Wotif etc $118, and they wanted to charge an additional $25.67 per night for our 4 year old despite their description of the room not stating this clearly. Not helpful, and not honest!
EDIT - As "Management" replied, I shall address that. I shall do so in points so I don't miss anything.
1- "she explained to you where it was listed in the description of the room" - This was my complaint to her, that it was not listed in the full description but only hidden and visible if I hovered over a certain part. So you are either unclear on this point or plain deceiving! 2- Let me be clear that I never stated that the room description was different on other websites, merely that the price was, and that this difference would have covered the cost of the extra that you wanted to charge, with change! 3- "As you stated you were also in business, we thought you would understand costs of providing a service." Yes I do. And I also believe in honouring your word. In my business, if there is grounds for confusion because of something I had overlooked, I would aim to put it right at my expense. It's a world of difference between covering costs and refusing to adjust inflated tariffs. And this despite the person being able to still get the same room with the extra person at a lower cost! I refused to go about it this way on principle. This was a true test of honesty, which you failed. 4- "After a bit of old-fashioned verbal aggression from yourself" Are you serious?! If you call someone holding you to account for your hidden charges and lack of acceptance of your melancholy, then indeed I can understand how I could be construed as "aggressive". But if your receptionist had instead sympathized with my issue (especially given it would cost you nothing to honour the original price I saw) then this review would have been a whole lot different.
I respect you standing up for your staff, but at times like this I think you perhaps need to record phone calls so you can see for yourself what's what. I do also appreciate this 1 star review is indeed earned with this response rather than a phone call to ask what went wrong which may have...
Read moreMy family and I went here today for a Mother’s Day meal treat. When we arrived, yes it was busy but to be directed to our table with hand signals was a poor start not to mention finding people sitting at our clearly labelled reserved table having a coffee! Table wasn’t wiped down between them and us so that was black mark number 2 (doesn’t get better from here).||Waited a solid 15 minutes before we approached the bar staff to give a drinks order and was told to take a seat “we’ll get there soon”. A waitress finally arrived, looked at us and shrugged and said “sorry” before taking our order.||When the food arrived nearly an HOUR later, there were only 3 meals instead of 4 and I had to go in search of cutlery, napkins and condiments. The fourth meal arrived a solid 8 minutes later. I really wanted the food to redeem what was a lacklustre experience so far but it didn’t. The fish was heavily battered and very oily and the “chicken, Brie, almond filo parcel” was extremely light on chicken and the almonds weren’t there at all. Plus one of our meals had a hair in it 🤢||During the whole time we had been there, we were not approached once regarding further drinks and not asked if our meals were ok, HOWEVER the table right next to us were asked TWICE!||We decided not to grow any older waiting for dessert and when paying, we were presented with an extraordinarily large bill. Half of it was items we certainly hadn’t ordered. No apology, just “that’s why we like you to check it”. Throw me an apron and a notepad sweetie and I’ll do the rest of your job for you while I’m at it.||Here’s some advice for free - when you are short staffed, restrict your bookings and don’t take walk ins. Look after your bookings, they’ll usually come back. But...
Read moreStaff: Such lovely staff. Flexible, were willing to serve me waffles when they just changed onto the lunch menu & I couldn't make up my mind on lunch menu options but, knew if waffles were available I'd go for it.
Seating: Both inside and outdoor options to have your meals.
Environment: Lovely environment outside, there's ☂️'s set up at most tables & some tables shaded naturally by some 🌳s. Cute & friendly little 🐦 s came to visit for some food (I gave a little 😊). They did not disturb us, & just waited for us to go.
Entertainment: Music 🎵 loud enough to hear from outside, great song selection, I was singing along to the greats ABBA's hit 💃👸 (dancing Queen)& 🚀🧑🚀 (Rocket Man), Stuck in the middle with you & there' were other well known great songs played, so they have a great taste in music. There's a large scale Chess 🐴⚔️👸🤴
Food: Beautifully presented, sweet waffles & nachos were ordered. There is also a savoury option. The waffles were the best waffles I've ever had. It made my day. Interestingly the food was served before the drinks but, that worked well for us as I had reported I'd go with 2 waffles due to being hungry as opposed to one. Drinks arrived sometime after tlbut, was still good timing as we could have it while we had our meals.
Drinks: Great value from a bar, $5 for a coke & raspberry & $5 for a 🍋, lime & bitters. Both glasses were full which makes it well worth the money spent and left us full and satisfied after having our meals alongside our drinks.
Pets: One lady had her dog tied to something by her table with a bowl so it appears as though pets are welcome to accompany...
