Makino Aquatic Centre — Local services in North Island

Normally great but last time the changing rooms were out of use and we had to use Whanau rooms. The first one couldn't be locked from inside. I assumed it was vacant but there were several men in there in various states of undress. These rooms are small so I went next door. I'm not sure if this one can be locked but when I opened the door there was an elderly couple with almost no clothes on. It was very embarrassing for me and no doubt them. I rapidly withdrew!!! There was no sign suggesting I should knock. This is not good enough. But, I have visited hundreds of times and every other time the experience...

Too expensive. Paraparaumu pool costs $8 for 2 adults and 2 pre schoolers, the Lido is free for mums with pre schoolers. Also its ridiculous how the new pool is always unavailable to the public....all good if you are paying for swimming lessons but otherwise its a no go area. Come on Feilding Council. We pay huge rates and then more on top for our town facilities....

I go here for a shower as I live on the road, the shower timer plug was only allowing 3 seconds of water through at a time, still managed to have a good shower. The shower stall walls were a little grimey but you could see where an attempt to clean the walls had been made, otherwise a nice clean space and great facility, the desk staff...
