Smoke Junction — Local services in Rodney

We were a bit disappointed with these guys after seeing so much good press about them on social media. We rocked up on Matariki Friday at 12.30pm, hoping that turning up close to opening time meant we had pick of a full menu. We wanted brisket and loaded fries after seeing the amazing photos posted on Instagram recently. We were told they weren't serving anything fried because of something to do with the oil- Disappointing seeing as its a smallish menu anyway. Saw another customer with fries a while later so thought they mightve started serving them but were told still no but how did that customer get fries??? Food took ages to come out (30+mins) and we were underwhelmed with the brisket. Mac and cheese was yum, just wasn't our first pick. Unfortunately our experience was clouded by a restricted menu. We'd come up from Auckland for these guys and left...

If you're after a true taste of Texas right here in little Matakana, Smoke Junction BBQ is the best and only place to be.

My partner, her kids and I had the pleasure of indulging in a five-star feast that left us grinning and wanting more and more. The ribs were off the hook.. — fall-off-the-bone goodness that had us licking our fingers and wanting more. And speaking of more, the Smoke Junction Burger was a game-changer. Stuffed with brisket beef and a soft brioche bun that melted in your mouth faster than butter in the sun, I can honestly it's say the best burger I've ever had in my life and I'm usually a really tough critic, we actually had to order another one because one just wasn't enough!

if you're keen for an epic BBQ experience that'll have you reminiscing it literally every night, Smoke Junction BBQ is the spot.

holy heck, where do I start? My mouth is watering just writing this review! My family & I shared the half rack ribs, 2x burgers & pork sliders… with that special tangy, sweet sauce…we’ll definitely be going back! We ate indoors at the Tahi Bar where BBQ junction was this weekend, but we’ll be visiting the matakana location next to try all those amazing sides along with everything else on the menu we missed! Can’t stress this enough, and for its amazing quality, the prices were so reasonable! Wish I could teleport! If you’re based in Auckland, it’s well worth the scenic drive too! Still hands down the best burger I’ve ever had! Happy I got an extra to take away and eat later on, cause it was still great as a left over!
