Hi, i came in on the 22nd November. Every time i pass by this business, i always come in and buy some ice cream. I've been doing this for many years now.
I bought some ice cream and my husband and I decided to sit near some vines outside. My husband unfortunately has dementia from a stroke. He asked where the toilet was and i pointed inside. Since he was in such a hurry, he quickly rushed inside without a mask because we were eating. As he rushed away I quickly followed to make sure he was ok and remind him to put his mask back on, and then as we came inside other customers started booing without knowing the full situation.
We were very shocked and upset by the negative reaction. We are both compliant with COVID regulations, are double vaxxed, and put on our masks (unless an accident like this happens).
Instead of trying to de-escalate the situation, the girl at the counter scolded us and told us we couldnt enter from the back even though we had both paid for our ice creams and weren't trying to cause a fuss.
I am the caregiver for my husband and as an Asian woman i felt embarrassed, vilified and upset by this situation. Unfortunately you will not be getting our business again.
My husband was very upset and i had to drag him out. People dont always know the reasons behind situations, so i urge all of you to be kind. I wish the staff had defended me and told the customers not to boo instead of joining in. I know these are tough times but we still...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCharlieās Gelato is hands down one of the best gelato spots Iāve ever visited! I tried the tiramisu and hazelnut flavors and both were absolutely divine creamy, rich, and packed with authentic flavor. The tiramisu had the perfect balance of coffee and mascarpone, while the hazelnut was nutty, smooth, and utterly addictive. The portions were generous, leaving me completely satisfied (and maybe a little tempted to order more!).
My kids each chose different flavors, and every single one was a winner. From fruity sorbets to decadent chocolate, there wasnāt a single miss. The quality is outstanding you can tell they use real, high-quality ingredients without artificial shortcuts.
The shop itself has such a warm, welcoming vibe, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I love supporting local businessesļ¼especially when they pour so much passion into their craft.
Another huge plus? The Slow Bloom Gardeļ¼if I got the name right!) just outside. Itās a charming little space where families can relax after enjoying their gelato. My kids loved exploring the garden, making this more than just a dessert stopāitās a full family-friendly experience.
If youāre looking for authentic, delicious gelato in a cozy setting with fantastic service, Charlieās Gelato is a must-visit. We left with happy hearts (and full stomachs!) and will absolutely be back. Highly, HIGHLY...

The selection of flavors is incredible. Finding out that none of the ice creams are made with anything artificial, I opted for a double cone with the flavour of the month - Christmas Cherry - and a scoop of After Dinner Mint.
The Christmas Cherry was superb. I got three full cherries in the one scoop alone, lots of cherry pieces and a gorgeous cherry sauce that was even throughout the scoop. The After Dinner Mint is the minty-est ice cream I've ever had in my life, it's like what I've been searching for my whole short life and I'm so glad I found it at Charlie's.
The location is secluded but beautiful. With indoor and outdoor seating, and lots of interesting flavors to choose from, this is an ideal stop off location or even a destination for a family outing. The staff are extremely friendly, kind, and chatty. An atmospherically warm and welcoming environment.
I look forward to going back and trying different flavors. I'll be recommending to my friends and family. Best ice cream...
