Arthur's Pass — Local services in South Island

It's a lovely little train station in the heart of the mountains. The station's surroundings are stunning, especially in the winter. The station has one clean and comfortable waiting area. The waiting area has a small but manageable heater. We were traveling and waiting at the station during the winter, so it was extremely useful.

The station has old photos and information about the tunnel and how it was built, which I find very interesting.

The Tranz alpine train will stop here for 10 minutes to attach or detach the back engine.
