We booked a private wine tour with The Wine Tasting Company to celebrate a family birthday, and honestly—it was the perfect day out.

From the get-go, everything was super smooth. Our guide was lovely—friendly, full of great stories, and clearly knew her stuff when it came to Waiheke and wines. We visited a few gorgeous vineyards, each with its own vibe, and the tastings were generous (no tiny sips here!). It felt really personal and relaxed, not rushed at all.

The absolute highlight? Lunch at Batch Winery. The food was delicious, but the views—wow. Sitting up there with a glass of wine, looking out over the island and the ocean, was just magic. It was one of those moments where you just stop and go, “Yep, this is the life.”

The whole day had such a celebratory feel, with thoughtful touches that made the birthday feel extra special. It wasn’t just a wine tour—it was a full-on experience, and one we’ll all be talking about for a long time.

It was such a luck to join this tour with Waiheke pick me up. Heidi is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the island. She lives in the island and showed me all the little thing about the island. I loved the little library that she showed me where people exchanged books in this cute little house. All the great sceneries around the island and all stories about the island. The 3 wineries that she took us to were superb. Apart from the awards some of them won, they all had their unique specialty that I loved. Each winery had either splendid views or inspirational decor. Wines from them were all great and different. What a thoughtful trip that Heidi had put together. I first was attracted by her cost offered and the good reviews of her tour. However, with her personal touch to the selection of winery makes it much better than and different from others. She said that she would take people to try different wineries.
