Had a delicious lunch at Krishna Foods over the weekend! 🙏

Ordered my wife's favourite, Pani Puri, which was so good with the delicious and lightly spiced legumes. The fried pastry ('puri') was so crispy and the spiced water ('pani') was so delicious, especially the mint. Fresh, spicy, and a great way to start.

Moved onto the Basket Chaat which was an absolute favourite. Perfect with the crispy fried basket, which included chaat masala and topped with crunchy fried vermicilli, yoghurt and a sweet tamarind-based sauce. This hit all the right spots - sweet, sour, salty and spicy. I could eat so much of this!

We then had the Krishna Thali, which included two delicious curries of our choosing. We got the chole (chickpeas) and paneer/capsicum curries. The paneer was great with the spice of its curry sauce but the chole had this deep, delicious umami that was so freaking good! Coupled with the thinnest and light rotis we've ever eaten, achaar (pickle) and a salad, this was delicious. We actually wanted to go all out with their Govedhan Thali but with all the food we ordered we felt this would've been a little too much so we held back, but next time this'll be on our list!

Finished it up with two delicious sweet dishes - a yoghurt flavoured with cardamom and almond, and a delicious barfi that rounded out the meal so well.

Cannot wait to head back! Despite the trek for us (we live up north), was totally worth the destination visit and highly recommend. Vegetarian and vegan options available too! Didn't miss the meat at all. 😊 Thanks for such a...

*This should be on your list of places to try! *

Checked out this place in past weekend on Sunday, and honesty it is too good to be true! To describe it in one word it felt like; home - truly touched the soul and child within! Everything on the menu is a MUST TRY!, but the Baingan Bharta was outstandingly delicious.

With the amount we ordered it felt like a feast, literally!, We were all excited to try the different options on the menu. So we ordered alot .. however we were definitely full but not stuffed by the food and is rare! - so definitely coming back again!

Everything was fresh, tasted of quality any carried burst of authentic flavors in each bite! The freshness of the pan puri was next level and truly took us all back to having pan puri in India and loved the twist on the filling with mung beans.

Everything was truly just too yummy! From the dabeli, to Basket Chaat - which was a unique and flavourful dish to the Goverdhan Thali - the Pulao was beautifully made, tasted all the aromatic spices in each bite! The Daal Bati was delicious and the Churma Ladoo - is another must try as well! Got a soft spot for grilled sandwiches and this was just PERFECT for that.

Food was exceptionally divine, but the service is worth mentioning as well!! Great service truly, there was little to no waiting between dishes and were very welcoming and warm so great service. Accommodating to all spice...

I will not pass through West Auckland without stopping in at Krishna Foods!

It is clear to see that the owners really care about warm hospitality and quality cooking – and that the menu has been carefully crafted to show off a wide range of unique Indian flavours and dishes.

Having been to Krishna Foods many times now, the puri bhaji has to be my personal favourite – a delicious pea and potato curry, served with melt-in-your-mouth fried puri. Not pictured, but also worth recommending is the thali, as well as the flavourful basket chaat (filled crispy baskets) and dabeli (filled buns) – the perfect mix of sweet, sour, salt and spice!

As a vegan I am hugely well catered for at Krishna. The food is so delicious that even my omni husband asks for me to bring him home some takeaway each time.

The service is fast and very friendly – and most importantly, the staff are happy to explain the menu, and answer my hundreds of questions to help me pick the perfect dishes.

So if you’re in the area you should definitely stop in, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you...
