Hovedøya — Local services in Oslo

Only minutes away from the City center with the boat service from Rådhusplassen. Hovedøya is a great place for a break from the city. Large enough to spend some time walking, follow the path around the island. The island is a nature reserve with plants that are endemic for the area. Places for picnic and swim. Also a place for simple food and drinkgs open during the season. Central on the island is a great lawn for playing sports or let your kids run. Historic with an experience within itself. The canons on one side with beautiful rocks on the water edge. Lovely forest trails and beautiful views. Allows you to see quite a lot of Oslo. A nice place located few minutes away from the city. We traveled by ferry and the line was a bit long. Here you can swim, grill, sunbathe, visit a cozy cafe, and enjoy nature walks.
