On they way there via tricycle, the local tricycle drivers weren't aware of the existence of the resort. This is because they've renamed the resort from "Polly's".
The fare from 7 eleven to the resort is about 13 km. Tricycle drivers charge normally 150, 300 for back and forth, in the morning. Expect to pay extra at night -- 200 to 400.
The breeze is perfect. The scenery is perfect. The shore is clean.
All of their cottages seem old. Non of the toilets have a working flush. Their water system is not pressurized, so if you're going to leave, make sure you take a bath early so that won't have to wait for so long for the water.
We also had this issue with the restroom, compared to the other cottages, ours was disconnected from our cottage. It's so far from our cottage that they gave us a key so that people won't use our restroom. Almost everything in the restroom was rusted. There was no place to hang you clothes, nor a place to put your soaps. The toilet was clogged, and since you were sharing this restroom, it gets pretty hairy really quick. Their buckets are also very small. The shower head was not clean.
Our sink was also shared. It was shared between 3 cottages. While other cottages had their own sink or kitchen.
The best thing about the cottages was the air conditioning. The air conditioning unit was brand new and very powerful.
The owner is very accommodating. Ask anything abd she's deliver.
If you're craving for coconut, the local kids that play in the resort charges 20 per coconut. A steal considering the locals sell theirs for 40 per coconut.
Along the coastline was a break water. Which was about 100 to 200 meters away from the shore. The water is a bit shallow from the shore to the break water.
The sand is coarse so it won't be easy building sand castles.
If you plan to cook, their kitchen has an LPG Stove which was very nice. They also have a place to grill. Though if you plan on cooking, make sure you buy your ingredients at the bayan, since there won't be a place to buy ingredients you might have missed.
Final thoughts, It's not a bad place to visit if you're not a lot. Perfect total number of guests would probably be 4 since things were shared. The tricycle can seat 4. Their tables can comfortably seat 4. Do note that this review is on the month of October. Expect worse on summer when they could potentially be jampacked.
Do note that I didn't take any pictures of the resort since nothing was that pleasing, since the...
Read moreThe resort is quaint and somewhat rustic. It has coconut trees that adds to its appeal. It is beachfront but the water is rather shallow and not swimmable. One has to find a nook to sit in and dip oneself. The waves crush far away at the edge of the reef and do not reach the shore. The waves are barely audible and this adds to the stillness and quietness of the beach. The resort is quite small but offers various types of accommodations. We opted for a kubo with two rooms with airconditioning. The kubo is functional as it is with a sitting area and lots of shelves inside but no kitchen nor comfort room. The resort provides a common kitchen with stove but no utensils. They provide a griller and a bag of free charcoals. The griller must be cleaned and scraped off the remnants of whatever was grilled before. There are 2 common comfort rooms which they should improve on especially on the cleanliness. Make sure that they are cleaned first thing in the morning before any of the guests wakes up. During the course of the day, the staff must check the CRs cleanliness as it is shared by many guests. Replace with a proper pail the old paint gallon container being used as it looks like a trash can. Put a shelf inside the CRs for the guests to place their shower things on. Maybe a bidet will do also. Address the nasty smelling puddle of water in front of one of the CRs. The good thing is the resort has strong water pressure. Btw, the resort is...
Read moreIt's a good place for resting or eating in the middle of exploring Bolinao. Beds and showers are enough. This is not a hotel. There is cable TV. We stayed here on weekdays so we had the place to ourselves. Owners and staff are very nice and accommodating. They offer tricycle tours at a fixed rate, all the tourist spots in Bolinao are nearby. They can also pick you up from the bus station. Beach can be improved. We went to Patar Beach instead for white sand and clear water. Good place for bonfires. There are corals near the beach, but it's mostly dead corals, rocks and small fish. Snorkelling is ok. They have resident pets but stray dogs get into the property so be careful if travelling with children. Buy your own drinking water and snacks from the main town. There are restaurants nearby but they can be expensive. You can borrow cooking ware and utensils from the owners. Lots of parking space, maybe 6-8 cars fit in the compound....
