National Museum of the Philippines - Bicol is where you can witness “Bicolandia: Land of Volcanoes” exhibition, spread across four galleries, showcasing the region’s rich biological and geological diversity. Additionally, the museum features several outdoor exhibitions, such as a volcanic rock garden, a butterfly sanctuary, and a nursery filled with Bicol’s economically important plants. Lastly, this Component Museum also offers the perfect skies for stargazing, and a stunning view of the mighty Mayon Volcano from its roof deck.

Read moreWe got a tour around the place from a great guide, who told us all about the tragic history of the city that used to be here. We visited this great little museum on the site which provided us even more information, displayed beautifully with models, illustrations and real artefacts. Next to the museum is a butterfly garden, something you don't want to miss when you're here. It was gorgeous, and the butterflies even come and sit on you if you stay still. If you're hungry, there are stands which sell these delicious chilli-mango shakes and ice cream which i can't recommend enough, try them when you visit!

Read moreOne of the well-curated national museums I have visited so far. I really enjoyed my time here and learned so many things about the Bicol region and the profile of their volcanoes.
I also enjoyed the butterfly garden. The staff there was very friendly and took time to explain their process and teach us about butterflies.
There's also a viewdeck on the side where you have to climb a spiral staircase. What's amazing about it is that they planted flowers on the 2nd floor. It has a great view of the Mayon.
They also have an outdoor garden with calamansi, lemon, pomelo seedlings and other fruit trees as well as veggies and lots of plants.
Do not miss this place when you are in Daraga....
