The National Mango Research and Development Center is located in Guimaras, the Mango Capital of the Philippines. This center plays a vital role in ensuring Guimaras maintains its reputation for producing the best and sweetest mangoes in the country. Visitors can explore the research facilities and observe the processes behind cultivating these world-famous mangoes. There is no entrance fee, making it accessible to everyone. We arrived via tricycle, and our driver kindly showed us around the site. Visitors can freely roam the nursery with baby mango trees as tiny as blades of grass and marvel at the sprawling fields filled with towering mango trees. However, a guided tour would have been more enriching, as our driver's primary focus was taking pictures. If you're curious about Guimaras mangoes and their cultivation, this center might fall short of providing in-depth insights. Still, it's worth a visit for those wanting to experience the place firsthand and check it off their bucket list. For its picturesque setting and cultural significance, it's a worthwhile stop when exploring Guimaras.

I will preface this by saying it was an underwhelming visit to be honest. Nothing much to do here but roam around, take photos, look at plants. It's such a WASTED OPPORTUNITY. Why not have a tour program where you can show tourists how Mangoes are being processed to different products? Or have a guide that can tour people around the compound, raise awareness about why Guimaras mangoes are the best. I think they can do more than what they have now to make the visit here more worthwhile. I took a trike from the port and arrived to see an empty compound. There was nobody there apart from a guard. You can roam around the facility for free, looking at the different nurseries and whatnot. There's an area with lots of Mango trees but it was off season (October) so there were no fruits. Near the trees is a small bungalow where staff are marcotting seedlings which they give out for free.

Great place to visit read about and see the different types of mango trees. There's a lot of different types of mangoes. They also had quite a bit of other types of vegetables and papaya trees. It appeared that they had small starts of mango trees already in buckets ready to plant.

This is where it all started! The great and the sweettest mangoes of the Philippines! Here you can go around and learn from them on how they propagate and nuture their mangoes! The research center were accommodating enough to tell you thier secrets (mangoes i mean). Not to mention that the place itself is great for your photoshoots! So be sure to have your camera with you and let your local guid do the shoot while your busy with...
