We left our house at 9:30 for the roro ferry at Pulupandan for the noon excursion, not expecting the enormity of road construction, but still got there in plenty of time. Nice ferry ride, it holds 7 cars and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. Once in Sinubag, Guimaras, we came to the first intersection. Go right and take the paved circumferential road or go straight on the 99% dirt road? We went straight, good dirt road, and saved a whole lot of time. I did my homework using Google maps. Got to Jordan and the hotel was easy to find, but the two dirt roads, although short, were very rough and a must to take slow for navigating around the rocks. First view of the property is fantastic. Peter, from Holland, gave his wife Nina carte blanche on landscaping and she has done a wonderful job. I am pretty sure a lot of the plants aren't native but we won't go into how they came to be here. Birds of Paradise, Hawaiian Ti, snake plants(mother in laws tongue), of course being Filipina many orchids. Not a large property but splendid, everywhere you turn, more to see. Small hotel, just 6 rooms with a conference center above the garage, parking available on the driveway inside the gate. Just give your keys to one of the girls in case Peter needs to get out early. Nice rooms, twin into king beds, extremely comfy mattresses. Good air cons, small breakfast included in P1850 for two. I had eggs and wheat toast with coffee and juice, my wife, fish or sausages with rice. It is a smoke fee hotel but with few other guests Peter allowed me to smoke on the balcony, brought me an ashtray. Nice eclectic variety of paintings everywhere, very well appointed furnishings. Two very attentive young ladies, if you need something, ask and you will have it shortly. The one question you should not bother asking Peter is where to eat as he doesn't have a clue. I guess Nina and one of the girls must cook very well. In the central upstairs room where 4 rooms are located, is a bar and available juices and soft drinks. The first night Peter and I were talking on the balcony and I accepted his offer for a beer. Also have a hot/cold water dispenser and coffees are available with glasses and cups. Very nice bathrooms with good showers and good water heaters. A cot is available for the room if necessary but it does cramp your space. Something to do, just a few kilometers south is a Trappist Monastery. We waited for a while to have a very nice talk with the head Brother. He got a little embarrassed when I asked about the pretty young woman working there, part of a student program. I told him she could be a great recruiting tool, lol. They raise their own crops, including mangoes and cashews, for sale down the road at their store along with trinkets and other food products they manufacture. One thing about the ferry ride, it gave me a different perspective of "Crocodile" Island and the others which we pass on the road to Bacolod all the time.We were there during Manggahan Festival and star Richard Yap and others from GMA used the hotel to prepare for a show on Saturday night at the main public plaza in Jordan. My opinions, bad food and entertainment, but being American I am a bit jaded. Had a better time joking with crew and security then at the show, but I think the thousands who attended enjoyed themselves, although, being Filipinos it is hard to tell since they rarely cheer or applaud. However I have one very negative perception of the show. This was family oriented and in the middle someone did a very curse filled rap, very improper for the setting. GMA should be held responsible for the content. Overall I suggest Pine Haven for anyone. Easy to book rooms using booking.com, no deposit required. My apologies, tried to show more pics but...

Read moreThe bnb was a bit difficult to locate by the driver. The place is tucked behind the main road, a little far from noise of passing cars. Makes the place quite peaceful and quiet. But it's quite close to the town center.||||Owners are very friendly and nice. They have several dogs who are friendly, as well!||||We had the whole place to ourselves. It was the 2nd floor of the house of the owners and there were several rooms. There's a bar, a balcony, and a living room. You need to press a bell for the helper to come up and assist you. We had one room which had three beds and a very wide bathroom.||||Tips: You have to book your tours yourselves. If you want lunch or dinner, you have to let them know beforehand.||||I would recommend this place, best...
