Urgent Safety Concern: Traumatic Elevator Incident Involving Toddlers - July 12, 2022
I would like to share a very traumatic experience that happened to us today, July 12, 2022, just before 3 PM. We were two families staying in two separate units of the building.
The incident occurred at the elevator on the 6th floor, the one with the mirror inside, located near the fountain area. We were about to take the elevator together when our two 2-year-old kids entered first. I followed right behind them, but in less than 5-10 seconds, the elevator doors suddenly closed on me. My shoulders got caught between the doors, and out of instinct and fear of being injured, I stepped back. That’s when the doors shut completely despite our desperate attempts to hold them open. It was terrifying. Our hands almost got caught as we tried to stop it.
What made everything worse was that the elevator immediately started going down with our two toddlers alone inside. No buttons were pressed from inside (they're only two years old), but the elevator moved on its own. We were in panic. As parents, the fear and helplessness we felt in those moments were overwhelming. We rushed to take the other elevator down, praying the whole way that our babies were safe and unharmed. Thank God, when we reached the ground floor, we saw them there, safe and waiting. But that fear will stay with us forever.
We immediately reported the incident to the security guard on duty, and she promptly called someone from their safety team. Unfortunately, instead of offering full accountability and assurance, the response we received felt dismissive and even blaming. We were told that the elevator in question doesn’t even have a button for the 6th floor and shouldn’t have been used by 6th floor tenants. According to them, the unit owner should have informed us that it's not allowed to use that elevator. The staff apologized but also emphasized that we should have known the door had no sensor and couldn’t be held open which is extremely concerning.
If it’s true that this elevator is unsafe or not meant for use from the 6th floor, why is there no visible warning or notice? Why is there no signage to inform and protect people, especially guests who are unfamiliar with the place? Even worse, the staff said they already knew about the issue, but no steps were taken to post proper notices. That is unacceptable and extremely alarming.
We are speaking up not to cause trouble, but because this could have ended very differently. We could have lost our children today. We hope the management realizes how serious this is and takes immediate action to ensure no other family experiences this kind of fear and trauma.

the place isn't nice at all, considering that we paid 5k for everything. the ground floor hallways is slippery, the elavator is creaky, there's no shower heater, we didnt even use the shower bec the water isn't coming out properly, the CR is too small, lack of outlet, the windows is dirty and the room isn't soundproof at all that you can hear outside noises. no hair dryer, there are mini cockroaches, no shampoo and soap in the cr? really? good thing we brought ours. and since we were late 2 hours, they asked us to pay 100 pesos late fee per hour and idk what was the late fee for. they didnt tell. we didnt enjoyed our stay considering we...
Read moreWindows and doors are not soundproofed and neighbors play really loud music. There's also constant check-ins as this is a popular staycation spot, almost all of those people are noisy and can stay that way until 3 am. My unit had a great layout but quality of fixtures specifically sink pipes are very much like temporary DIY fixes. No atm, nearest is SM Cherry. Residents don't wear masks in corridors and private common areas (unless they are...
