In the heart of Estrela mountain range, we can find this hotel with some of the best pool "sets" that I've seen. There is one large heated pool that is covered on half of its area and open air on the other half. That same pool is "feeder" by a waterfall that originates on another pool set on the first floor. You also have available saunas and some variations on the Turkish bath. Overall the hotel is very enjoyable and yet informal. We wanted to stay at the hotel but it was booked so the only option was to book a four hour spot at the spa. Please make reservation in advance by sending email with reservation details. I received the response next day and only had to pay 50 percent to confirm my slot. Missing a few special touches, such as a hot bucket in the Hammam (to accompany the cold one), saunas were missing a eucalyptus bucket for the hot stones, would have liked some pools at much higher temperature. Showers in changing rooms are not thermostatic so huge and painful variations in temperature.
