I visited Băneasa Shopping City recently and overall had a very pleasant experience. Here are my thoughts:
👍 Pros: Variety & Brands: There are tons of shops — both luxury and more accessible — from fashion, beauty, home goods to tech. If you’re looking for premium brands, this is one of the best spots in Bucharest. Cleanliness & Ambience: The mall is clean, modern, and well kept. Interior design is nice, with lots of natural light and open spaces so it doesn’t feel overly cramped. Food & Dining Options: Plenty of restaurant choices, from fast-food to more relaxed sit-downs. Good if you want a break after shopping. The food court is large. Entertainment & Extras: There’s a cinema, entertainment for kids, etc., which makes it more than just a shopping place — good for spending a few hours, especially with family or friends. Parking: Ample parking space, which is a big plus.
👎 Cons / Things to Keep in Mind: Distance & Access: It’s not super central. If you don’t have a car, public transport options are less ideal. Crowds & Peak Times: Weekends or evening hours get busy, especially food courts and common areas. Sometimes it’s hard to find a table during those times. Food Court Seating: While there are many food options, getting a seat during busy periods can be tricky.
✅ Overall:
If you’re looking for a comprehensive shopping + dining + entertainment destination in Bucharest, Băneasa Shopping City delivers. Ideal for a few hours out. If you go during off-peak times, the experience is smoother and more relaxing....
Read moreAs an American in Romania for the first time (actually first time on a different continent), this mall is massive. Clothing, jewelry, food court, salons, spice shops, kitchenwares, pharmacies, bakeries, ice cream, flower shops, banks, money changers, cellphones/service sales, and a grocery store that has a side with housewares, clothing, movie theater, etc.
Definitely a different experience in the grocery store. I paid and was trying to leave through a swinging gate, which wouldn't open. The people behind me showed me to scan my receipt and the gate opens, lol. Embarrassing but they were helpful and nonjudgmental.
Food court had a large variety and both times I ate there, the food was very good.
Most people speak English in the mall except the grocery store. Use translator on smartphone and they are used to helping that way.
People were friendly but many just looking at their phones. Sound familiar?
When I travel, my thing is bakeries. Well I'm in heaven here!
The reason I only gave 4 stars is because I didn't utilize the services or experience the entire mall. I'm not much...
Read moreUnfortunately if you come with your bicycle, then bad luck one entrance has no place to put your bike and the other is having only one place to put it and only for four bicycles. So basically for one of the crowded mall in Bucharest there are only 4 people on bicycles aloud to visit . HUGE DISLIKE unfortunately. Hope you will do something to get in civilized world. (There are very few other spaces more but that belongs to Carrefour ,even so...) First I gave 1 star but I change it because I mailed this guy's and i got an answer from them that at the end of the month they will take care of this problem ,and they did.I consider that VERY professional. Still not 5 star's because this mall is here for some year's already, they should think that this is wrong but I appreciate a lot that in the end looks like every institutions and building in Romania should look like.Great job...
