Horrible I could say in one word.||||After 3 years in which I was not on vacation, I decided not to make a mistake, so I booked a room of over 700 lei per night (2 people) in the hope that we will have a little relaxation.||I would start by listing the things that according to the Booking site are in the room but are not or are outdated:||Sound insulation - I don't think there is as long as we hear the neighbors talking slowly in their rooms||Microwave - Jegos||Table - there was a table on the terrace and a coffee table that had one leg attached to the insulating tape and you could not put anything on it because it swayed in all directions||Relaxation area - this if you want to walk in the room full of dust and dirt||TV and flat screen TV - there were 2 TVs from 1914 in which one of them did not even have batteries, the batteries were bent.||Terrace- is not||Dressing - I didn't find anything like that - it probably refers to the hall in the upstairs bathroom||Safe - already had a set code, probably by others who stayed before||Wood or parquet floor - it was a tired LVT that was past its lifespan as it looks, probably from lack of care||Heating - one evening I actually got cold, if you turned on the heat in 30 seconds the salt was safe, in addition to the fact that a dusty smell came out of the fan coils||Sofa - this is only in the pictures||Dining area - this is only in the pictures||Satellite channels - were analog postures that looked bad||Balcony - on the balcony there was a table and 2 chairs but there was room for 1 table and 1 chair and something||Patio - here probably refers to the kitchen that had swollen and sticky furniture - totally unhygienic.||||Certainly this room was not even cleaned, not to mention that it should have been sanitized.||The bathroom lacks putty from the tiles and is made of jeg and mold, in none of the bathrooms did the ventilation work and in the upper bathroom of 2 light bulbs 1 worked and only half of the light from the mirror, the shower faucets were terribly dirty and old .||All the doors creak.||The balcony door does not close, it needs adjustment.||When I entered the room I was surprised to see that there was a wifi router but the password written on it did not work.||Every morning there was a smell from other bathrooms in the complex.||||The access door to the pipes was only shaped, it fell at night when I slept, it had no lock, it was broken and old.||||On Friday at 5 pm they came to change the towels. We left until 4 pm and at 5 pm I was sleeping, I couldn't think of putting the DND sign on the door at 5 pm. But they knocked on the door until they came over me sleeping.||||The food at the restaurant was OK but when I ordered in the room it seemed made up of leftovers, not even the french fries were the same. Only prices.||||It was awful, on the last day I woke up at 7 and went straight, I could not wait to get home to take a proper shower, how much mess was in the room even if you took a shower you could not feel ok.||||Most of all, I'm sorry we went for the idea of relaxing, but you weren't even on the balcony.||It was also my birthday, I want to mention that never in my life have I felt...
Read moreThe place is a huge apartment complex, some of which is privately owned, some rented by owner, and some, like a hotel. Sort of. These sort of rooms/apartments are spread around in all the four different buildings, haphazardly, and to get anywhere it’s a good hike.
Location-wise, Silver Mountain is outside the ski resort, which means that if you want food, you have to get it from the one restaurant onsite. To have it delivered, sort of like room service, it takes 60-90 minutes and you pay for delivery!
We had a penthouse, presumably one of the best “rooms” available. It was a long walk from the reception. The view was of the apartment building facing it, so not at all nice. It was so FILTHY, I had to spend my own money and time buying cleaning supplies and scrubbing the floors and all the surfaces, which were sticky and disgusting 🤮
There was absolutely NOTHING in the space, not even a bottle of water. There is a wood-burning fireplace, but not one wood chip in sight. So we had to buy everything. Never in my life have I spent so much money on accommodation and didn’t arrive to find a welcoming gift waiting for us. A little bottle of Prosecco and a fruit basket is the civilized way to say “welcome” to your highest-paying guest, just FYI. Also, seeing as we stayed there between Christmas and New Year’s, a bit of holiday cheer, in the form of an evergreen wreath or something of the sort, wouldn’t have gone amiss. But, again, nothing but the sticky floors and grimy windows greeted us 😩
The reason we came to this so-called resort instead of our usual haunt, the Teleferic (which is absolutely the best place to stay in the area), is the fact that they call themselves pet-friendly, so we could bring our dog. But, surprise! Yes, the dog was allowed for an extra 20 euros per night, but only in our rooms. Not in the restaurant! So we "enjoyed" eating in shifts. By ones and twos, since one can’t leave the dog unattended in a hotel room, right?
As I mentioned, it is quite far from Poiana, so trekking or taking the bus while lugging your skis is not a great idea. The bedding sucks. Sheets are ripped, the duvets don’t even cover the beds, the pillows are very lumpy. The beds, super low and quite firm, cheap and uncomfortable, so if you're expecting boxsprings and 800 thread count sheets, you'll be sorely disappointed. We certainly were.
All the furniture is falling apart, and seems put together in a rush. Screws and wires are visible, joints meet crookedly, sinks are chipped. The showers drain super slowly, so while you shower, your feet marinate in water and who knows what else flows back out from the drain…
The fireplace works, but you need to bring your own wood 🤣 The chimney needs cleaning, as it is quite smoky. Worse stay ever. Do yourself a favor and avoid,...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience. Our stay here exceeded by far our expectations. We were looking online for a place to stay near Brasov and we came across this hotel. I read the reviews and even though some were pretty bad we decided to give it a go. What an experience... We like quiet places and this was perfect... Surrounded by trees we thought that this is the right place to relax after a long journey. The moment we stepped in the lobby we've been amazed by the cosy atmosphere and the nice smell. The reception staff were there to welcome us with a big smile on their faces. We booked a big family room and we received a free upgrade. I must say that after reading those reviews my expectations were pretty low but the room was just beautiful. The balcony was so big and everything was so clean. After the check in we went to try the Spa area. The outside pool had an amazing view and the water temperature was perfect. The saunas were great and again everything was so clean. The staff in this area was so welcoming and ready to help and always smiling. We also had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which was very stilish and cosy. We sat outside at the beginning but it started to be quite chilly so a member of staff offered to accommodate us inside in order to enjoy our dinner. I am quite fussy about food but everything we ordered was just fresh and tasty. Breakfast was amazing as well. So many tasty dishes and cakes to choose from, plus freshly made pancakes with all the toppings, fruit, juices and coffee. Even though it was so busy the waiters were always making sure that everyone was happy. We travel a lot and we stayed in similar places before but this had something special. Maybe because we didn't expect any of that after reading some of the reviews. So if you read this and you are considering to stay here please give it a go. You won't be disappointed. We are looking forward to our next stay here. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so pleasant. See...
