If you love history and are a nature lover, then this is the perfect place for you.

From the parking lot to the Mokra Gora station, you pass through a tunnel under the railway, where a lot of historical information about the railway is displayed.  Upon exiting, you will see wooden buildings with a very impressive appearance - they are restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops.  While you are waiting for your Ćiro (now called Nostalgija) you can look around the place.  Nearby is a steam locomotive on display that still has a strong smell of grease from lubrication. It is convenient to buy the ticket earlier so that you can "catch" your seat on the train.

It is a real pleasure to ride this narrow-gauge railway. The experience and impression are excellent. The seats in the carriages are quite uncomfortable, but you quickly forget that part when the train starts because you are engrossed in the changing scenes on the window.  The whole ride takes a little more than two hours.  While driving to Šargan Vitasi station, the train does not stop, while on the way back it stops at every station.The railway winds through hills and forests, crosses over bridges and through tunnels, so you have the impression of being in a fairy tale or part of a picture. In order for the train to cover a distance of three kilometers and pass a difference in height of 300 meters, it must travel over 15 kilometers and cross itself three times (this is how the turns in the figure of eight are created).  In terms of the number of bridges and tunnels, as well as loops on the way up, Šargan Eight is a unique railway in Europe. At the time, the railway connected Belgrade with Sarajevo and Dubrovnik and Boka Kotorska.  It was the famous Ćiro, of whom there is not much left in other countries. Great little train ride - way better than I expected. This is a there and back again trip from Mokra Gora (though you can get on and off at other stations on the way). We went on a Thursdsy morning in early September and it wasn't too busy - we just bought tickets on the day at the station but you do risk there being no tickets left if you do that. The scenery is great and the carriages well designed for viewing with lots of big windows you can open. The train stops off at quite a few stations for photos or refreshments. Pruga, širine koloseka 760 mm, prolazi najlepšim planinskim predelima Mokre Gore sa 5 mostova i 22 tunela. Na ukupnoj dužini pruge, na relaciji Mokra Gora – Šargan Vitasi, od 15,5 km prelazi se visinska razlika od 300 m.

Voz „Nostalgija“, lokomotiva JŽ 83-173, koju čine restaurirani vagoni, saobraća tokom letnje i zimske turističke sezone. Pogodan je za organizovanje turističkih putovanja, izleta, ekskurzija, kao i  za snimanje filmova, TV serija, TV drama, spotova, reklama i sl.

Voz “Nostalgija”, nekada najmoćnija mašina svoje klase, i uglancani vagoni, dočaravaju dah prošlih vremena i voze ih preko 5 mostova, kroz 22 tunela, savlađujući visinsku razliku od 300 metara. „Šarganska osmica“ važi za jedinstveno graditeljsko remek delo u svetu među prugama uskog koloseka. Vozeći dolinom prosutom po padinama Zlatibora, Tare i Šargana povezivala je Beograd i Sarajevo od 1925. do 1974.godine. Usputna stanica Jatare poznata je po tome što u njoj nikada nije prodata ni jedna karta.

Redovne vozove pokreće dizel lokomotiva, a fakultativne parna ili dizel lokomotiva shodno zahtevu korisnika prevoza.
