I’ve visited this car park numerous times over the past year during both business and leisure stays at The Clan Hotel, and until recently, I never encountered any issues entering or exiting using my Autopass card.

However, at around 3AM on 29 June 2025, the barrier system failed to detect our Autopass card when trying to enter. The screen repeatedly displayed messages like "Updating CSR" and "No IU detected". We sought assistance from the car park management, and a staff member came to help. After multiple failed attempts with the same card, he advised us to purchase a new CashCard from 7-Eleven.

We visited several 7-Eleven outlets, only to be informed that they no longer sell CashCards for awhile now, and were advised to get a FlashPay card instead. We returned to the car park with the new FlashPay card, but the same issue occurred. We called for help again and explained that CashCards are no longer available. We even tried two other Autopass cards — making it a total of 3 DIFFERENT CARDS, none of which worked. It’s worth noting that the original Autopass card worked perfectly the previous day at the SAME CARPARK (28th June 2025) for BOTH entry & exit, and even at other carpark like at CHANGI AIRPORT & MARINA BAY SANDS.

After nearly an hour of trying and being completely exhausted (4AM), the staff finally opened the boom gate manually, and advised us to call for assistance again when exiting.

The next day, while checking out of The Clan Hotel around 3PM, we scanned the hotel’s validated QR code at the exit, but again, no cards were detected by the system. We called for assistance once more, only to be met by a DIFFERENT staff member who was shockingly rude and accusatory. He insisted that there was no way we could have entered without a valid card and even denied that the boom gate could be manually opened — effectively ACCUSING US OF LYING. He REFUSED to listen to our explanation and kept BLAMING the issue on OUR card, despite the fact that we had TRIED 3 DIFFERENT CARDS THE NIGHT BEFORE, and that the same card had worked the day before and even AFTER we had left the damn carpark yesterday.

What made the experience worse was the DISRESPECTFUL and DISCRIMINATORY attitude of the staff, who repeatedly brought up the fact that we were Malaysians — making CONDESCENDING comments such as “Johoreans and Malaysians cannot enter without a card” as if we were stupid, incapable or ignorant, and that we 'had magically' opened the boomgate on our own and entered the carpark without their own staff and management's help, which was ridiculous!!?!!

This experience was both BAFFLING and DISAPPOINTING, especially considering how seamless & pleasant our past visits have been. Instead of blaming paying customers, I urge your team to PROPERLY maintain the car park system, TRAIN your staff to handle issues with PROFESSIONALISM, and REVIEW your CCTV footage, which will CLEARLY SHOW THE TROUBLE WE HAD...

Chk in was quicker than some reviews said but then, it's likely thx to the poorer reviews that mgmt acted to improve so kudos to both reviewers and mgmt 👍 Rooms nice and not too cramped - we booked urban rooms. Toilet rolls so thin to save cost I guess but just means guests wld pull more sheets so can't see how this works out... only serves to give a cheaper image to my mind. Service seems friendly and welcome cocktails were a nice touch too 👍👍 Funny that we were advised to order via QR code for our coffee/tea at breakfast buffet meaning standard stuff, but when we asked if there was cuppacino or latte, they said "have" and we cld just order from the waiting staff. What's the pt of making guests order via QR code which is for standard coffee/tea, again giving lower star image. That said, the cuppacino is machine produced so not much to sing abt. However, the in-room coffee bags are really good, caramel mocha and decaf even. The whole room had the aroma aft 1 cup and so nice to walk into 😋 Creamer was not so good tho "Cafe Maid" brand has mild flavour that distracts from the English B Tea. For the Earl Grey tho cos it's super strong in the aroma, is enough to cover the creamer flavour. Pool is mostly in shade so water can be really cold... deliciously so for those who like that or frightfully so for those who prefer warmer temps 🤭 Greenery is outstanding and layering facade awesome. Row of chairs beside external water feature (from chk in entrance to dining area) is very soothing too if you have time to just chill for a bit (maybe waiting for something/someone). All round nice staycay but not sure if enough to wanna return cos for the price tag, maybe another hotel on Sentosa might be money better spent ? That said, staff all pleasant incl the housekeeping guy who spoke well and very friendly...

When this enclave opened 2 decades ago, a sheltered historic conservation houses for food and entertainment right next to the prime business area, it came with much fanfare and near a decade of great food and lunch crowds during the day, and some hot pubbing scene after office hours. A decade ago the place started to go downhill as trends, new watering hole places more popular and crowds moved on. Weekday lunch was bustling though. Weekends dead and quiet as offices closed and there were no events or activities to attract weekenders. Now comes 2020 pandemic. Even in phase 2 opening many are working from home. Pictures posted are of peak lunch hours. Thus after office would be worse. Buildings and historical house still well maintained and nice, the ambience chill and cool. But sad to see the businesses here will struggle to survive. Plenty of food choices from local Prawn Mee to Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Westerns gourmet and pub grub. Location: very convenient, literally sit in centeral business district area. You can reach there by raffles place mrt station ( green line) or telok Ayer mrt station ( blue line). Walking distance How to get there: 1. Telok Ayer MRT Station: Exit B (2mins walk/approx 100m) 2. Raffles Place MRT Station: Exit A (6mins walk/approx 500m) If driving, you may park at: 1. Samsung Hub (3 Church Street) $3.20 per entry from 6pm to midnight. 2. Capital Square (23 Church Street) $3.20 per entry from 6pm to 8am. It’s lots of choice you can have. Most important it’s cheaper than clark quay or boat quay. Suitable for regular drinks!
