Situated in the Strand near Gordon's Bay and just off the N2 it is a convenient and worthy course to visit when out in this vicinity.
The Golf Course Holes, 18 of it, is unforgiving and challenging, accuracy and course knowledge is a big plus when playing this course.
The course at the time of my visit in Jan 2018, was well maintained, despite level 6 water restrictions implimented in the Cape, with fast rolling greens and dry hardy fairways with sections of deep green in places. The course flows nicely and walking it with a moderate fitness level is easy.
We started out with an overcast sky and ended with an open sunny sky on the 18th, never forget to apply Sunscreen, you will suffer for it afterwards.
The showers were turned off due to the water restrictions, but the halfway house and bar were in full swing, a dynamic staff compliment in the kitchen made us feel at home and we were well taken care of by the roving staff when it came to ordering drinks from the bar.
Our club used an upstairs venue for our prize giving which was neat, clean and adequate for our approx. 40 strong crowd, with a commanding view of the 18th, and at no xtra cost it was awesome.
If you are a Golfer and never played Strand Golf Course, you owe it to yourself to experience this challenging and well maintained course and the Green Fees are...

Strand Golf Club is beautifully located between False Bay and the Hottentots-Holland mountains, promising a scenic golfing experience—if it weren’t for the wind. Extra balls are highly recommended, as the gusts can make for a tricky round. When the windsocks serve as flag markers, you know exactly what to expect.
Unfortunately, the course is not in the best condition at the moment. While some maintenance work is underway, overall care is lacking. The fairways are dry, the landscaping could use more attention, and there are certainly more visually appealing courses in the region.
On the bright side, the club offers a welcoming atmosphere, and the surrounding views are stunning, providing some compensation for the challenges on the course. If you're up for an adventure and can handle the conditions, you might still enjoy a round here. Personally, I might not return—but who knows, maybe the wind will change for the...
Read moreI've heard many good things about the Strand Golf Club, but it was not what I expected. I went there with my family, and the food options were very limited. The breakfast I ordered was very poorly presented. The bacon looked like it went through a blender before it was placed on the place, half of it was burnt, and the other half was undercooked. The boerewors looked like it was boiled and basted with bbq sauce.
Out of the 3 toasties we ordered, two of them came to the table different to what we ordered. How is it possible to get half the order wrong? My daughter does not eat tomatoes, and even after I removed it she could still taste it and did not want to eat it. She left without eating anything.
The waitress dropped the food off, and we only saw her after 3 of us finished our meal and we had to ask someone else to call her, very unprofessional.
Im sure that under different circumstances, we would have had a different experience, but I guarantee that this club will not...
