Our household of two intended to start a juicing fast, so we decided to go stock up at this market. We Read up about their odd payment options, drew the cash and applied for the buyer's card bright and early in the morning. All processes were smooth and professional. The market was buzzing. The warehouse is really big and we just walked from one end to the other looking at what is available. Almost nothing is labelled with a price. You have to go to the agent's counter at each section to ask for the prices. Really annoying. There's no customer service, or even awareness. Forklifts and golf carts drive haphazardly and fast and you have to be very alert. The trolleys available are massive, like the back of bakkie. I'm not sure if you are able to use a trolley without paying for a porter.
We eventually decided to rather go to the "People's Market" on the other side of the premises. We went to get our cash deposit back with no problems. Parked right next to the stalls. Very busy here as well! This is then where we spent our cash at a few different stalls. The prices are much lower than in the supermarkets or Food Lover's Market. The people were friendly and eager to assist us. It was great to support these traders! So, in my opinion, the main market on the Trader's floor is for the big buyers and not so great for the small guys... Go walk around first and check it out before going through the process of applying for the protected cash Buyer's card, etc. Overall it was an interesting experience and we'll go back to support the...
Read moreBeen to the market 5 times now. Very happy with the freshness. Agents are not really friendly so be prepared to figure your way through. I'm not sure if they will be friendly once they see you often? Not sure. Some agents quality great, some not. I bought apples by this Muslim man, very good quality. Today I tried at Du toits. EXTREMELY disappointed , most of the apples were bad. And it's not like I had to tear the box open and go through the whole box. I guess I'm still learning my way around things. Definitely won't buy at that agent/group again. The agent was RSA , and fruit brand was du toit. This wasn't even all the apples that were bad. Big loss,...
