A very pleasant surprise on the route of the Johannesburg City Sightseeing tour bus. Here, you can dive into Nelson Mandela's life and work by walking through the permanent exhibition and even visit his post presidential offices. When we visited, there were two ongoing temporary exhibits that bery much contributed to our experience. The first one invited guests to explore the meaning of Mandela's legacy 10 years after his death, drawing inspiration from the dreams he whispered into the enamel mugs that were given at Robben Island. The second one explores the new banknotes and coins of the South African Rand, the later featuring an image of Nelskn Mandela for all denominations. If you visit, make sure to stop by the Goodwill Collection shop, where you can purchase keepsakes whose proceeds are directed to their charitable works.

The foundation strives to promote equality, social justice, and reconciliation in South African society and around the world. Admission is free, and visitors have the opportunity to purchase t-shirts, books, and other meaningful souvenirs. There is also a section featuring historic videos about Mandela's life, which is definitely worth a visit! ______________________________________ Die organisasie is ’n niewinsgewende instelling wat toegewy is aan die bevordering van die nalatenskap en beginsels van “Madiba”. Die missie is om die geskiedenis, waardes en leringe van Nelson Mandela te bewaar en met toekomstige geslagte te deel. Die stigting streef daarna om gelykheid, sosiale geregtigheid en versoening in die Suid-Afrikaanse samelewing en wêreldwyd te bevorder. Toegang is gratis, en besoekers het die geleentheid om T-hemde, boeke en ander betekenisvolle aandenkings aan te koop. Daar is ook ’n afdeling met historiese videomateriaal oor Mandela se lewe — beslis die moeite werd om te besoek!

We took the hop on hop off bus to the foundation. The visit is free so we donated money to this great Center. If you are interested in the fight for justice and equality and the great man that is Mandela then this place is a great visit. There are toilets. You can buy memorabilia. Also you wait inside behind the gates with the guard until the next bus appears so you are safe and sound

We took the hop on hop off bus to the foundation. The visit is free so we donated money to this great Center. During my visit to the Nelson Mandela Foundation, I was struck by the profound sense of history and inspiration that permeated the space.
