Pan Africa Shopping Centre. — Local services in Gauteng

This is a very big shopping centre in Alex. It is the hub and as such it is overpopulated. There is a taxi rank at the top with taxis to most areas within Gauteng and this is advantageous for the many people who rely on public transport in Alex and surrounding areas. Just like any mall it has a good spread of stores which are targeted to the demographics found in Alex. There are banks, a Pick n Pay and all the loved takeaway food shops such as McDonalds, Steers, KFC etc. There is plenty of parking and about two or more entrances to access the center. They even have a recycling station at the bottom of the centre, which I was privileged to be shown when I was doing a project for school. The only qualms I have about the centre is the overcrowding in and outside the centre. As mentioned this is the hub for shopping in Alex and so taxis and cars dropping off and picking up shoppers and others cause chaos outside the centre. Centre management is friendly and there are security guards stationed in and around the centre who can point you in the right direction when lost. There has been another mall built for the Alex population; I however don't think it has made a difference in the numbers of people found at this...

Pan Africa Shopping Centre is at the heart of commerce in Alexandra Township. It has one of the main minibus taxi ranks and as a result tends to be crowded with commuters. The shopping centre has all the basic necessities including a Supermarket (PnP), restaurants such as McDonald's, Steers, Debonairs Pizza and KFC amongst others. It is a decent place if you want to buy some basic things and go. It does however have a few drawbacks including paid public toilets, rude security and cleaning staff, broken escalaters as well a tendency to mistreat commuters after work by locking up all the essential pathways causing confusion and frustration.

In conclusion, I'd suggest only using this Shopping centre when you have no other options or are able to live with the poor standards of the Centre. If you don't like crowds or crowded places avoid shopping here during the end of the month, especially...

I suppose if you leave there and are already comfy in your neighborhood then it's easy to like this one. I've been there a few times and can't say I liked it much.

It's not dirty dirty but it just doesn't look clean either. It just looks old and aesthetically everything just feels slightly off.

Unfortunately there are too many people in the place inside and out. The good part is that there are a lot of shops and that does matter more than some of my qualms with it.

I won't however leave the house and say I'm going to buy clothes from this place. It doesn't carry that vibe that encourages you to keep shopping.

The surrounding area is also hard on the eyes.
