MINT Express Sandton View & Residences — Hotel in Gauteng

I recently stayed at Mint Express Sandton View, and Residence, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with several aspects of my experience.

Firstly, I found it unacceptable that there were no blankets suitable for winter. This is a basic amenity, especially during colder months. Additionally, the pillows were dusty, which is a clear indication that cleanliness is not a priority. There was no air conditioning provided, making the room uncomfortable.

The layout of the space was another issue. The bathroom and kitchen areas were awkwardly placed next to each other, which did not make sense and was inconvenient. Furthermore, I was surprised to find that no mugs were provided for tea or coffee. Even in self-catering accommodations, it's common practice to provide basic kitchenware like mugs, and their absence was disappointing.

Lastly, the security measures were concerning. There was only one key available for the main door, and none for the other rooms. This raises serious safety concerns that should be addressed immediately.

Good afternoon, We would like to express our dissatisfaction with certain aspects of our stay at the hotel. From the beginning, we encountered issues with the service. We had some specific needs during our stay that, unfortunately, were not adequately addressed. Another concerning point is the lack of security on the premises. We observed unfamiliar individuals, entering the property without any control or restriction from the hotel. This situation compromises the safety and comfort of the guests. Furthermore, we were surprised by an unjustified charge regarding the alleged disappearance of a hairdryer from our room. We would like to clarify that there was no hairdryer present upon our arrival — in fact, it was one of the first things we looked for, as it is commonly used, especially by women. I am very disappointed. I chose to spend my weekend there because I expected to receive decent service. Strangers came knocking on our door, and since we were just girls, we went to the reception to ask for help. No security guard came up, and no one seemed to care about our safety. We were so scared that we had to call people from outside to support us. Imagine if we didn’t have anyone to call? We made a reservation for 6 people, but there were only 3 towels. We asked for more, and they said they would bring them — but they never did. After we checked out, we were told everything was fine and that we could leave. Then we were charged for a supposedly missing hairdryer that was never even shown to us — we never saw any hairdryer. Even if we had taken it, shouldn’t we have been informed about this at checkout?

I found this to be a terrible place to stay, and I do not recommend...
