A trip to the Effingham area would not be complete without a visit to the locally famous "Reddys House of Curries" I been wanting to visit this place for some time, but time and time again, Sunday is my most famous day to BunnyBlog... But sadly, this establishment is closed 😢 But last Saturday after the gym 🏋️‍♂️ I was determined to go try them out 💪 And I was pleasantly surprised and of course a decision I would forever never regret 😎 They are situated in a shopping complex known as " Top of the rock" on Effingham Road, and I must add, does look a bit shady 🙄 but the parking was ok and I parked right in front of the shop. As I jumped out of the car, my sinuses were quickly enveloped with the welcoming aromas of multiple Curries braising simultaneously i instantly salivated 🤤 The owner himself was behind the counter dishing out a variety of freshly cooked meals out to constantly newly arriving customers, in good speed too, and always having a smile and a chat to everyone in between 😃 The seating area was the other real turn off, some small seating inside (really small shop) and with some seating on the outside, which was waterlogged due to the rains 🌧 and he also advised they are in the process of renovations 💯 But to the reason for my visit, to test the Mutton Curry Bunny Chow, well, that for me, was top class 👌 Something I really expect from a proper "Takeaway " It was so good, we had to get a mini chicken curry bunny chow (for Shaskia Singh ) and some other food Takeaway 😋 The color of the curry is not your usual Red or that muddy brown, but somewhere in the centre. I was not joking about the fragrance of the curry either, definitely evidence of their unique style and masalas being home ground and homemade 👌 The gravy was not too thick, a bit watery, but it soaked the fresh bunny bread 🍞 properly 👍 They even offered some extra gravy as I politely declined as I can see that this bunny chow is not gonna have a problem being dry. Some coriander (dhania) to top it off would of been nice, but with the current situation with supply and price of Coriander, I will completely understand 😃 This was definitely sized as a 1/3 bunny chow as the mini we also ordered was a proper 1/4... I think this is the new norm for most restaurants, and i mean I can see the logic, not everyone can eat a full "Quarter bunny" aspecially at the current pricing, and no chance of doing a Takeaway of the leftovers either as it will be soggy and just wastage. The meat 🍖 in the bunny chow was ample, a few unsavory cuts of fat and some half cartilage, but that's not a major issue. The flavour profile sometimes rely on these funny cuts of meat, but all in minimal proportion 😊 Presentation was on point 👉 (aside for the on top garnish) and that nice size UTD break apart in your fingers potatoe just did it 👍 Some fresh salad 🥗 and yes, I wiped my plate clean 😝 The mince curry was also catching my attention, so while I was eating, the owner gave me a sample to try and give him honest feedback, and I was so glad to try it, as it was truly amazing 👏 Fairly reasonably priced with lots of specials noted on the walls and specials blackboard, and with the variety of ethnic groups coming in and ordering, I can clearly sum it up that this establishment is a gem 💎 in its own right to their community 💪 With regular customers, even one line i never hear in a long time, "the usual please 🙏 some extra gravy don't forget" 😏 With a smile and a nod from the owner to client both acknowledging each other with a side smile, knowing that they are not just regulars, but definitely treated more like family than anything else... and this for me, is what I look for ultimately, and that's the experience 😎 Knowing that your not valued as just a financially profitable number, but being truly respected like an individual 🥸 That to me is truly priceless, and definitely looking forward to visiting them when im that neck of the woods again 🫡 @everyone
