A great place to spend some hours in the afternoon; I highly recommend a visit if you like a museum with interactive displays, experiments and games. Of course a lot of information is in Korean, but there is still plenty of English on the signs as well (or you can use the Google translate camera function).
The building has a couple of floors, although some of it might be closed off during certain times; some rooms had time slots for example. The second floor is where most of it can be found, and it's divided up into three sections of technology, roughly: vehicles, seacraft, and medical.
The staff is very kind, and they will go to great lengths to try and help you in English (unfortunately my Korean isn't good enough to hold a conversation). They also cared very much about your experience there, and about your means of transport; we came by car and have no working creditcard. So they asked if we'd like to pay with cash, which could only be done at their information desk (paying by card could be done outside in the parking lot at the machines. So instead of leaving us to figure it out on our own, they anticipated our need to pay in cash and told us where to pay when we bought our tickets.
The price is unbelievably cheap, and in my case we spend about 2.5 hours there. So not only was it a lot of fun, it's some of the best money spent in terms of price paid for hours spent. All in all, thanks to the very kind staff, and the fun experiments, it was a great visit. The 5/5 stars is because I truly recommend visiting the...
Read moreI visited the place weekday afternoon. Not many visitors, and parking was available everywhere. The place has a few themes(?)-ish section so visitors need to buy multiple tickets if they want to visit all the places in the museum, although each ticket wasn't expensive.
You can imagine this place as Discovery Cube, but much more upgraded version of it, if you came from Orange County, California and know Discovery Cube.
Many displays have an English caption provided, but not for a few visual displays like Edison vs. Tesla talking or those hands-on classes. Hopefully it gets better in the future.
My experience was during weekdays and before S Korea school's summer vacation started, so your experience might be different from me. E.g, I didn't need to wait at all for anything to try during my visit with my kid but I definitely saw a few famous sections that would have a long waiting line during the kid's summer break.
Overall a great place to visit...
Read moreThe Busan National Science Museum is an excellent destination for families, offering engaging, hands-on science experiences that are thoughtfully tailored to different age groups.
The upper floor at the Busan National Science Museum for older children features three well-organized zones focused on Vehicles & Aerospace, Ships, and Energy & Medical Science. This area offers numerous interactive demonstrations, including driving simulators, digital wind tunnels, and virtual reality experiences, which effectively bring scientific principles to life. Although the space is not overwhelmingly large, the density of interesting and educational activities, as well as the very reasonable entrance fee, make it a worthwhile visit for families...
