Read moreLet’s start with the obvious: “Adventure” might be a strong word here. Lotte World Adventure Park isn’t exactly a world-class, edge-of-your-seat, scream-till-you-cry kind of place — but it is clean, strangely charming, and suspiciously uncrowded. It’s like they built a theme park and forgot to tell the public. Which, let’s be honest, is kind of amazing.
Located not too far from Busan, it’s the kind of spot you go to when you want to almost experience the thrill of a big-name amusement park… but without the hours-long queues, screaming children (okay, still a few), or battle-hardened parents wielding double strollers like tanks.
Now, a word of warning: the main entrance requires you to climb a flight of stairs. A bold move for a place called Adventure Park. You’ll be wheezing like you’ve just summited Everest before even spotting the turnstiles. Cardio? Check.
As for the rides — well, if you’re a thrill-seeker over the age of 10, temper your expectations. The park is mostly built for the tiny humans, with cutesy, gentle rides that won’t mess up your hair. There are only three rides I’d classify as “adrenaline rush,” and even that’s generous. But here’s the kicker: there are no lines. None. Zilch. You can walk on, scream your lungs out, hop off, and get right back on like you own the place. Who needs variety when you can loop the same coaster 17 times until your soul leaves your body?
Food-wise, it’s surprisingly decent. None of that soggy churro and mystery-meat nonsense — there are actual restaurants with real food that didn’t come out of a vending machine or a freezer bag. Imagine eating a proper meal at a theme park without taking out a small loan or needing a reservation made in 2019.
If you want a chill, queue-free, kid-friendly day with the occasional “mild rush of adrenaline followed by existential reflection,” this is your jam. Not quite Disney, but a whole lot better than sweating through a two-hour wait for a 45-second ride next to someone’s screaming toddler.

Read moreI had a quick visit to Lotte World Adventure Busan whilst I was on holiday in South Korea. The park entry was included with my Visit Busan pass so I thought it would be rude not to visit. Entry was quick, as all you had to do was visit the ticket office with your pass and they exchanged the ticket straight away.
The park is relatively new as it only opened in 2022, so it’s very well connected by public transport, and is a few minutes walk from the Metro.
The park itself is beautifully presented, and clearly has been designed and built with families in mind - as it’s very bright and colourful. It’s spotlessly clean too.
We admittedly are thrill-seeking adults, so really there were only about 4 rides that catered for us. The Giant Digger was the main thrill roller coaster of the line up, packing a hefty launch. Giant Swing was another great thrill ride, swinging high above the park. The other ride was the launched water ride Giant Splash, but as it was only 2 degrees we didn’t ride as we didn’t want to get wet.
The park is predominantly built for families, so there are a huge array of shows and attractions built for younger audiences. Again, these were all well themed and looked great for younger visitors.
I enjoyed my brief visit to Lotte World Adventure Busan, it’s a nice park with lovely theming and a few great thrill rides. However, I personally wouldn’t be heading back there until there were some new attractions to make it worthwhile for...
