Has most (but not all) of what you need, and never what you want. Base exchanges are a "beggars can't be choosers" shopping option when stationed overseas. When CONUS, it's easy enough to forego the BX and just use Amazon but that becomes tricky abroad. Shipping time and costs make buying some things prohibitively expensive or require patience and planning, because you're not getting anything free overnight. The BX serves as a Walmart, for better and for worse. If, for example, you're looking for a household water purifier or softener, you're out of luck. Your appliance options, in general, are limited to the one or two styles they've decided to carry. They may not be the best but they aren't cheap, but once again: beggars can't be choosers. Depending on the OCONUS location, you might have luck going into town but that's a gamble. Whether or not this is a good exchange is irrelevant because it doesn't have to compete with anything to stay open.
Christmas 2023 update The store has hundreds of Xboxes and PlayStations but no Switches. The store's merchandise manager made a very bad bet this holiday season and clearly didn't accurately forecast demand. It becomes especially irritating when the exchange is the only English option available overseas. Ordering one online is a 50/50 gamble because of mail theft in the shipping chain. Another minus for being stationed in Korea.
Christmas 2024 update Not sure how they failed to anticipate the ENTIRE weekend would be busy, not just Black Friday, but on Saturday they have fewer registers available throughout the store and the system software is "having issues," according to a worker. There's 1 month out of the year you better be sure everything is functioning, updated, and running efficiently, and the BX predictably has failed at that. They're actually losing sales as people leave the non-moving lines and giving up. Christmas is in 25 days. Plenty of time to get stuff on Amazon! Between last year's merchandising failure and this year's computer failure, I have to drop a star and cut it down to 2.
August 2025 update This BX sells the Canon TS3720 printer, which uses the 275 ink cartridges. Do you know what this store does NOT sell? The 275 ink cartridge! It sells a printer but doesn't sell the necessary ink cartridges for that printer. Whoever is responsible for merchandising this store can't be fired...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've all been here. A bit pricy for the food here and some foods here to salty even for Popeyes. However it's clean, lots of space just any other outlet mall. Use American money here no tax. Love that. If your using Korean credit card there will be a transactional fee cause your on American property. Baskin robins. Dont have 31 flavors more like 20 cause its limited size here compared to outside, but because its american cash there is also no tax. I feel awkward to see only Koreans working behind the shops here. You can see several Americans working at the exchange here. They got lots of selections here. Somethings you really can't use in korea but...
