I recently hiked the Gwanggyosan trail, and it was an incredible experience that perfectly blended natural beauty, peaceful surroundings, and a rewarding physical challenge.
The trail is well-maintained and clearly marked, making it accessible for both intermediate and seasoned hikers. It offers a steady incline with a few steeper sections that provide a great workout without being too exhausting. What stood out most were the stunning panoramic views of Suwon and the surrounding areas once you reach the summit — absolutely worth the climb.
Along the way, the trail winds through quiet pine forests and rocky paths, offering moments of calm and reflection. There are several rest spots and scenic overlooks where you can catch your breath and take in the scenery. If you’re lucky, you might spot some local wildlife or hear birdsong echoing through the trees.
Make sure to bring water, wear proper hiking shoes, and pack a light snack to enjoy at the top. Also, try to start early if you want to catch the sunrise or avoid the weekend crowds.
Overall, Gwanggyosan is a must-visit trail for anyone looking to escape the city and connect with nature. I left feeling both refreshed and accomplished — already looking forward to my next hike...
