When quiet Santa Margarida would be a lovely holiday spot but in high season it is compromised by volumes of visitors and their cars.

A good shore stretch, with abundance of shops, various restaurants and bars, pleasantly laid out. Sicher ist der Tourismus hier ausgeprägt. Ich kenne den Ort seit gut 30 Jahren. Nun zog es mich mit meiner Familie erneut dorthin. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Ferienwohnung die zwar ruhiger gelegen aber nicht zu weit vom Strand entfernt war. Der Strand bietet eine enorme Qualität. Breit, sauber und nur während der Hauptsaison voll. Das Wasser ist fantastisch und Fische aller Art tummeln sich um einen. Die öffentlichen Toiletten sind sehr gepflegt und die Versorgung mit Snacks aller Art ist gesichert durch Imbisse und Supermärkte in der Nähe. Der Ort an sich hat einen Charme der sicher nicht jedem gefällt. Einige Gebäude sind sichtlich in die Jahre gekommen und es gibt einige Leerstände. Dennoch liebe ich die Gegend um Roses und würde jedem empfehlen hier zu wohnen. Grund dafür, es wird alles geboten. Und die Wege zur ursprünglichen Costa Brava und dem ursprünglichen Katalonien sind nicht allzuweit. Ausflüge zum Cap de Creus, nach Cadaques oder El Port de la Selva sind fast schon ein muss, weiter südlich geht es nach L'Escala oder Platja d' Aro. Die Costa Brava ist einfach wunderschön, Dali hat sich nicht umsonst in diese Landschaft verliebt. Sta. Margarida speziell bietet alles was man an seiner Ausgangsbasis fürs Umland benötigt, aber es sind eben auch Tage am breiten Strand möglich.
