Birg is an incredible mountain station located between Mürren and the famous Schilthorn peak. At around 2,677 meters, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Alps—including the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—without the crowds you might find at more well-known spots.

Photos can’t do justice to this magical place. Unlike Jungfraujoch, where large crowds are packed together (and peak season would be even worse, not to mention the multiple train rides to get there), my mom, my husband, and I had the entire mountain of Birg to ourselves. The view was far more dramatic than that of Jungfraujoch.

We enjoyed the thrill walk in complete solitude, and just as we were about to leave, we saw only three or four other people. It was a completely different, and far more enjoyable experience for us compared to Jungfraujoch.

View is amazing but the service at the self-service is the most horrible. They don’t want to help, grumpy, don’t want to talk, no kindness, no smile no nothing. They order us/clients to say as little as possible and move out as quickly as possible. We were so excited to be up in the mountain and have some food with the most spectacular view but our mood was totally destroyed and disappointed by their service.
