Bad, really bad. The weather was not great ( cloudy and cold) but we tried anyway to sky hoping in a positive change, the mountain is also that. Since the arrival we had the first issue: Swisspass was not accepted to upload the sky ticket ( first time ever ???). After 2 slopes we decided to stop skiing because of zero visibility; people was crossing each other lines with no clue of their position on the track, so also dangerous. For us safety is more important and we decided to leave. At the cableway station the Stoos personnel refused to reimburse the ticket and not even open to discuss a solution, saying is the“Company policy”. In the meantime the cableway broke!! we had to wait additional 20 minutes before to finally leave. In conclusion: 45 CHF per person to ski 2 slopes. No regrets and no merci from the staff. Worst behaviour ever experienced in Switzerland so far. It’s a shame because the ski resort is in a nice position, but became probably too tourist oriented and there is more human understanding for exceptional situations. Something that fortunately in other ski resort still have, we do not recommend this place at all :( We really encourage the management to be more transparent and inform the people coming about the weather conditions and the related safety,...
Read moreWonderful ride on the Stoosbahn, the steepest in the world. At the top, you’ll find scenic summer hiking trails toward Fronalpstock and Klingenstock.
Unfortunately, the welcome at the left-hand ticket desk in the valley station was disappointing: the lady (around 60 years old, short red hair) was extremely rude and arrogant, not only in her refusal to speak any language other than German, but also in her overall behaviour and gestures, which came across as unprofessional and dismissive. We tried speaking to her in English, French, and Italian, but to no avail.
In a country with four national languages - and where I’ve always found courteous, multilingual staff on other railways (including the SBB) - this attitude really spoils the atmosphere.
I therefore suggest that Stoosbahnen AG provide proper training or reassess the front-office skills of this employee: it would be a shame for such an extraordinary attraction to be let down by a single...
Read moreThis is the coolest funicular that we came across. And in a beautiful location. We had a bit of an adventure getting there thanks to google and its maps, so unfortunately we go there a bit later in the day. Most things at the top were closing when we arrived but would have loved to spend more time up there. Don't forget to get your little wooden ball. You need a 2chf coin, or a few of them. But you need to get one. And don't forget to say hi to the cows. I don't think you can get one of them for 2chf, but i diddnt really ask anyone.
The funicular is a super cool bit of technology. Very smooth ride and an great view.
Don't forget to check out the little self serve store at the bottom, lots of local wares...
