Awesome. I would say this is a must visit. The sheer engineering of the ride up the mountain, amazing. I’ve been experienced it now in winter and will be back for a summer review. It is not a cheap outing , but very well worth it. You can take the funicular up to the first station and there after there are another 2 chair lifts to take you up the mountain, ofcourse you could hike. The views are fantastic. The staff at the counter of Stoosbahn can speak English which is helpful for some tourists. It is definitely reachable using Swiss public transport. You would take a train from Zurich main station and eventual land up at Schwyz train station , then it is a 501 bus to the Stoosbahn. I find the SBB app and Google maps brilliant to help me to get to places in Switzerland using only public transport. If you go in winter dress warmly if you feel the cold. I would also suggest snow boots / winter boots as once you get off the funicular to walk to the other chair lifts you will encounter a fair share of snow in the winter months. Don’t let this little oversight spoil your adventure and sight seeing of awesome sights. Don’t be put off by a misty foggy day as once you go above the clouds you will have sunshine and blue sky - obviously it shouldn’t be raining ,...

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. ESPECIALLY WITH A SWISS TRAVEL PASS. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was an utter disappointment and I want to warn others. The bahn itself is pretty cool, a nice ride, and for Switzerland not too expensive. But everything about this screams commercialisation, we felt like money cows. The ride up is free with a Swiss Travel Pass, but the other Bahnen at the top (eg the chair lifts) are not and they are EXPENSIVE. Without them, you're pretty much doomed to walking up and down again, unless you're an avid walker. You could explore the town, but that's basically a Disney village for tourists with too much money. We went down almost immediately. The ride up and down was fun, but what a waste of time. We recommend going to the nearby Rigi mountain instead, with all its Bahnen (all free with the Swiss Travel Pass btw), it has a ton of options (also to leave the mountain at another point than you entered) and is very walkable with thousands of possible routes once you're up, and a very cute old railway to get up there. The Stoosbahn might be a cool ride, but it isn't only steep in terms...

This is a review for the funicular, the chairlifts and the Ridge Line Walk. Firstly, (as a frugal Brit), the prices gave me a nose bleed of biblical proportions. The funicular is pretty cool and the views (on the way down especially) are amazing but it's just too much for the tickets imo. Secondly, the chairlift tickets are a little less eye-watering and whet your appetite with their panoramas, ahead of the Ridge Line Walk. Finally, the walk itself: simply, jaw-dropping, the views are absolutely incredible from start to finish. The route is challenging but manageable as long as you have a head for heights. In sum, bite the bullet, put your hand in your pocket and experience one of best walks...

4 stars only for the steepest funicular in the world. The funicular ride was slow and fun. You don't feel the incline because only the base of funicular inclines but your internal seating area remains still while going up. The stoos village is just like other ordinary villages of Switzerland. Yes stoos ridge hike is stunning but it requires an additional ticket as Swiss Travel Pass only includes the funicular ride. If you have limited time, better go to Stanserhorn or Rigi and skip this place as reaching funicular base is also times consuming from Schwyz train station you have limited buses to Stoosbahn.
