Our family adventure with Migration Venture and Amos in Tanzania was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized, allowing us to focus on enjoying our once-in-a-lifetime journey.
Our custom trip began with the 8-day climb of Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route, and we couldn't have asked for better guides than Epa and Joseph. If you’re looking for a tourist guide, Epa is not for you. But if you want a seasoned professional who will ensure you reach the summit safely and well-acclimatized, Epa is second to none. Epa's calm demeanor and deeply humane, supportive presence made us feel at ease throughout the climb. Joseph was especially supportive during the hardest times of the climb; his encouragement was invaluable in keeping our spirits high.
We were also immensely grateful for Epa’s crew: a team of 14 porters and a cook, assembled by Epa himself. It’s clear they have a deep respect for him and his incredible experience. Epa’s genuine concern for their well-being fostered a strong sense of loyalty and dedication. The porters' remarkable dedication was evident every day, as some, after setting up camp, would come back one or two kilometers to help carry our bags. Their efforts and kindness made our climb not only possible but enjoyable.
Following the climb, we embarked on a 5-day safari through Tarangire Park, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara national parks. The highlight of our safari was undoubtedly the hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti and the canoe safari on Lake Manyara. Both experiences were breathtaking and offered unique perspectives on Tanzania’s stunning landscapes and wildlife.
Our safari driver, Denis, was exceptional. His driving skills ensured our safety, and he had an uncanny ability to position the vehicle perfectly for the best views of the animals, while respecting the experience of other park visitors. What truly stood out was Denis's pride in his vehicle. Despite the dust flying around all day on the gravel roads of the national parks, Denis made sure his car was clean, reliable, and comfortable every single day. This attention to detail was greatly appreciated.
Amos, the mastermind behind our trip, was fantastic. His meticulous planning meant that every detail was taken care of, leaving us with no hurdles during our journey. The only hiccups we faced were with arrangements we tried to organize ourselves. But even then, Amos came to our rescue, salvaging our stay in Zanzibar and turning it into another highlight of our trip.
We highly recommend Migration Venture to anyone looking to explore the wonders of Tanzania. From the challenging climb of Kilimanjaro to the mesmerizing safaris, every moment was extraordinary.
Thank you, Migration Venture (Amos, Epa, Joseph, and Denis), for making our...
Read moreTo make your experience in Tanzania better, I would suggest you to read reviews carefully and join tours anothers are offering. Actually, the manager and the owner of this company, Issa and Amos were so nice.
I actually joined the Kilimanjaro climb and the safari tour from the company and the safari tour was so nice.
Some of the worst points I can highlight are that on the last day of the Kilimanjaro climb, the guide told me that we have an extra porter who has carried drinking water since the first day so should pay tip for him as well. And I said that yes it’s okay if that is true but I have not seen him and also the company has never said that to me so. However I can pay tip for him if that is really true. And the guide never introduced me about that extra porter. I actually didn’t want to make my trip bad so I gave the guide 10 USD tip for that extra porter he talked about. The guide talked and asked me too much about this on the last day. This caused the bad user experience of the kilimanjaro climb
Also, this is not related to the company but there is a rescue vehicle service included in your package of the kilimanjaro climb which takes tourists from the each huts to the entry gate when necessary and requested. I asked the guy wearing the black down jackets in the reception at Horonbo huts for this service at 8am. And he said that okay he will contact Marangu gate to arrange it for you. I kept waiting and In 2 hours, he said that he has already contacted the gate and the car is on the way. Later on this he repeatedly said the same and a rescue vehicle never showed up. Instead, around 2:30 pm, there was a car coming which was actually the car for staff working at each huts and was actually for staff change. That means he never contacted the gate to arrange the rescue vehicle service IF a tourist does not give tips when requesting. The guide also knew about this but didn’t support anything. The guide also acknowledged after coming back to the town that the car was not a rescue vehicle for tourist.
Both they should actually learn that doing normal things and supporting as usual would give them an extra value and more tip rather than doing those and trying to cheat tourist of money. Be more smart.
There are also another uncomfortable experiences during the climb but I won’t write them down here. Next time I will ask another company for tours even the management of this company was so nice people and most of crews were very...
Read moreCarlsberg don't do Tarangire safaris...but MIGRATION VENTURE AFRICA do and I would highly recommend them. Booked through GetYourGuide they had little reviews but all positive and this is another one I'm writing now.
From the minute Dennis picked us up he was a true Ambassador and proud to represent MIGRATION VENTURE AFRICA. Immaculately presented with a great smile and welcome aboulard the well equipped extended Safari Specificaion Toyota Land Cruiser, with power and USB charging ports and well stocked fridge. We set off on the 2 and a half hour journey from just outside Arusha to Tarangire nature reserve, which may seem a long journey, but there was lots of African life to see on the way an the journey there itself was really interesting and Dennis pointed out places and things of interest on the way, also educating us on African culture and language. We stopped along the way at Lions Cafe and bakery and the breakfast menu offering, and food and service were excellent.
Once we arrived at Tarangire Nature Reserve, Dennis sorted out the entry ticket with minimum delay and popped the roof of the 4X4 Safari open allowing us a perfect 360 degree fresh air view and we were on our way through the gate and into the reserve. Dennis was on the radio throughout and gathering info from other members of his team about where the animals were and throughout the next few hours we saw the following extensive list of animals: Warthogs, Impala, Water buffalo, Lions (pack of 6) drinking at the waters edge, Numerous herds of Elephants, some up very close , Monkeys, Ostrich, Giraffe, Vulture, Effassa waterbug , Giraffe, Oxbecca (on giraffe neck), Zebra, Wildebeast, Grant gazelle. And of course the Massai everywhere...with their herds of goats and cows. Dennis was brilliant at guiding the safari 4x4 to each location and arriving at each spot to get a great view. He was a competent driver and we always felt safe with him in control of the vehicle. The journey home was great with some good tunes through the Bluetooth and Dennis leading the singing. Most memorable was his rendition of The Lion King track "In the Jungle"
A truly memorable day out. Would highly recommend and can't thank Dennis enough for his experience, skill, knowledge and company throughout. A true Ambassador for MIGRATION VENTURE AFRICA and for Tanzania.
Highly...
