Wongwian Yai Market — Local services in Khlong San Subdistrict

This is a thai local Market located about 700 meters from the BTS Wongwian Yai station. By local market I mean that if you are a Westerner, you will be an isolated face there. The market stretches up and down the road with a variety of vendors. Produce is fabulous and cheap. Fish are amazingly fresh. While the sanitation is not up to Western standards, if you know how to shop in a Thai market you will be fine. Although not a lot of westerners go there, most of the people are very friendly and quite frankly, are amused at your reaction to seeing eviscerated frogs, live eels, and all sorts of strange edibles. Be careful, the concrete can be slippery. There are snack food vendors everywhere as well as some sit-down stalls. Go see how the locals do it and have some fun. Local market for food and groceries located near the Thaksin monument both retail and wholesale. Great selection of seafood, e.g. shrimp, clams, fish, etc. at cheap prices as this was the terminus of the old railway from the seafood market; however, it's a market, so the seafood is for cooking at home. The market is open early and closes late. There is a nice selection of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner to be found throughout the area, but most of it is takeaway.
