Service: Very nice staff makes my stay a pleasant experience. They are friendly, approachable and helpful. The hotel seems to be short on reception staff. Staff seems to be running back and forth between the reception counter and kitchen. They speak passable English but at times they couldn't understand my request. Google Translate helps a lot! On the day of my check out, there was only 1 staff because it's a public holiday. Her name is May and she had to answer phone calls, attend to guests at the reception, attend to LINE messages from guests, instruct kitchen staff, serve breakfast, clear tables. May is a very good and dedicated staff. Despite not being able to speak English well, she uses Google Translate to convey her message clearly.

Environment: Wong Wianyai is the perfect location for a quiet stay outside the busy area and yet convenient enough to get to town. Stay here if you want to avoid traffic jams and too much noise. BTS Wong Wianyai is just 5 mins walk from hotel, 20-30mins BTS ride to Siam shopping area, 15mins on Grab to Talat Phlu market (old market with lots of good food), 2 BTS stops to The Mall Thapra, 2 BTS stops to Saphan Taksin/Bangrak area where you can shop at Robinsons mall, eat street food, have a massage, or walk your way up to Chinatown. If you walk across Wong Wianyai BTS, there're plenty to see and eat. The famous Somsak Pu Ob and Tub Tim Krob are within walking distance. Yums!

Room: The room is clean and looks exactly like the photos. It's the perfect size for one person, not too small or big. Comfortable bed with good air conditioning. I stayed on Level 6 and it's very quiet unless guests close their doors roughly. The corridor is not carpeted so there's some echo whenever someone opens the door. TV channels are a bit disappointing with almost all channels in Thai.

Bathroom: Toilet paper quality is quite bad and finishes very quickly. Shower pressure is good. I don't have issue with water temperature. You just need to switch on the hot water first until it becomes hot, then turn the cold water up. It works well for me! Don't use the rain shower as it spills everywhere.

Breakfast: I ordered breakfast for my last day. Arranged for 9am. Came down at 9.10am and there was nobody at the reception. The staff was busy helping in the kitchen. Took some time for her to finish attending to other matters, before my breakfast was served. Porridge set meal is passable. Can be better. The buffet area is quite disappointing. Looks untidy.

Tip: Ask for receipt upon payment for room. Install LINE app and add @wstation for room service. There's no phone in the room to call. Texting is fastest. Check out Drop by Dough at Reference Sathorn condo behind the hotel (IG: @dropbydough). They serve very good doughnuts and coffee.

Overall, a great experience and very good value for money. I...

  8. Using Grab app to call taxi proved to be a bit challenging
  9. Taxi drivers cant find the exact soi and we have to go out to the main road to get the cab
  10. Due to location , taxi fares usually range from 100plus bahts to 200plus bahts per trip . Add up could be quite a substantial amount for transport especially certain places are not accessible by Bts . ( especially for solo travellers for trips to & fro )
  11. Nothing much around the area
  12. Housekeeping not efficient ( updates : when we are out on the third day till afternoon ; no one made up the room ; & housekeeping did not ask if we needed anything . We have to ask from them . Housekeeping at times are too late around 3pm when we are back in our...

We stayed here from 26th to 29th January 2025. 3 rooms, 2 guests per room.

Positives: Location is near the Bts (free to take) and also has a 7-Eleven, a bar and a noodle restaurant close by. You have a restaurant/bar next to the hotel otherwise, guess it's part of the hotel.

Neutral: nothing special about the rooms, for what we paid is okay. It is clean (atleast day 1). Rooms might be a bít small. Seperate beds, but can be combined together. The breakfast was also nothing special. Just selection of several dishes. Basic, but good enough.

Negatives: Location quite inconvenient to take a Grab or Bolt. Takes average 20min to get one to your hotel for pickup. Travel to the hotel also a hassle by him driving through alleyways if coming from the west side of the city. From the east side easier. They disable the hotel rooms cards at 11:45, none of us could get into our room to grab the luggage for checkout 12:00. Went back and forth to finally get access. Biggest negative would be the not cleaning the rooms. We stayed here for 3 nights. Cleaning were skipped for the first time somehow. Another room 2 guests stayed were not cleaned at all during their whole stay. When we came back to the hotel around this time in which they knock for clean service, after we tell them to come back later while we freshen up and went outside again, they never came to clean the room. Surprised noone cleaned the rooms, we requested at the desk the next morning to clean our rooms and change bedsheets/towels. Did not happen for that room, but 2 rooms did around 3pm. So 2 people slept on the same bedsheet for the whole stay. And this is days before the lunar new year, as a Chinese owned hotel, you expect them to do this properly for good luck and such. Keep away the bad spirits. Cleaning schedule should be like normal hotels around 11:00 to 14:00. That's when people check in and check out.

Definitely won't be...

4.5/5 stars The hotel is outside the main area of Bangkok, but it's very easy to get to as the Wongwian Yai BTS Station is only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. They also have many animals around the property. A friendly German shepherd, birds, koi fish, and cats. There are two 7-11 also within 5 minutes of a walk. The staff from the girls at the front desk to the cleaners and security are lovely, helpful, and very attentive. Please do put your 'Do not Disturb' magnet on your room plate outside so the maids know you do not need room service. As for the rooms itself, it was clean and cosy. The beds were comfortable, and windows had blackout curtains, which was a nice touch. The shower had good water pressure. We were also given two bottles of water and a new roll of toilet paper every day. The only thing that the room needed was a smart T.V as we preferred to watch YouTube and Netflix over Thai programs. But this is only our own preferences. Overall, we had a very pleasant 1 week stay at W station, so thank you so much to the great staff. This place was lovely to stay at and was a great value for what we paid for.

Overall I had a good experience here. The room was comfortable and clean. Air-con worked very well, even though the room could get hot pretty fast when I turned it off. The bathroom was very clean and the place provided hairdryer. However, the front was a bit slow and they didn’t throughly read my reservation, which included 2 breakfast tickets. So the next morning I came down and asked about breakfast, a staff replied that it was cancelled due to Covid19 and I had to tell him that we bought breakfast ticket (it was about 5 dollar each so I didnt want to just let it go since the staff could not return the fee). He managed the problem quite well even though we had to wait until 11am for the kitchen to open). Just a reminder for you to check with the hotel first if they provide breakfast, so that you dont waste your money on unusable breakfast ticket (my reservation was from booking.com)
