ร้านทำผม Finesse Salon — Local services in Phlapphla Subdistrict

The owner (Phat), the creative director (Mac) and the assistant (Mali) attended to me and they were extremely warm and welcoming. Phat and Mac speak really good english so english speaking foreigners like myself are able to speak to them comfortably. I'm also extremely grateful to them for working overtime to provide me with the hair services (they usually close at 8pm but my hair took them up till close to 10pm).

I tried out the purple balayage, hair cut and the L'Oreal DX metal hair treatment for slightly under 300 euros. I have bra length hair which is considered as long hair in their pricing.

Phat graciously provided me with some complimentary drinks and snack from the nearby restaurant and at the end of the hair session, I was also provided with a complimentary gift (shopping bag) which was a pleasant surprise.

Mac is very skilled with styling my hair and was able to give it a good amount of curls and volume which would supposedly help to emphasize the balayge 3D colors even better. However, I'm not confident of my abilities to style it that way on my own as it requires a curling iron and special techniques to direct the hair in different directions :D

The 3 hair treatment left my hair feeling very soft and smooth (it was previously very fizzy and the ends break rather easily). Hopefully it'll stay that way for a few months.

The purple balayage didn't seem very noticeable to me but Mac assured me that it will be more obvious during the daylight and also after a few washes. I'm looking forward to that.

After the session, Mac also proceeded to take some photos of the hair and the curls of my hair look amazing but even under the studio lighting setup which the salon has, the purple tones were not too noticeable yet. I'll post an update here in a couple of days time if the purple colors start becoming noticeable.

I also love how they provide a plastic shield for the forehead and eyes which worked well to keep out the chemicals and fumes from the hair coloring.

Note for foreigners not used to hot weather: I'm from the Nordic region and the high day time temperature of Bangkok made me sweat profusely. The face shield, face mask (for covid prevention) and the plastic hair cutting cape added more heat to my body. Fortunately, the assistant was able to help me adjust the hair cutting cape and also use a hair dryer on cool setting to blow down my dress and help cool me.

Update（7 Aug 2022): I received a follow-up phone call from Phat one day after doing the initial balayage hair coloring. She was checking with me on the results of the balayage and about my opinion on it. I mentioned to her that the purple color wasn't too apparent yet and she suggested coming by the next weekend for a free-of-charge touch-up to enhance the color. I was also advised to start washing my hair daily to clean off the excess color as it could be too dark and causing the purple tones to be hidden. This is excellent after sales service indeed.

After washing my hair daily for 3 days, the hair does look more purple but it was in a uniform tone like a regular hair color instead of a balayage which has varying intensities along the length of hair.

When the day of the touch-up arrived, Mac quickly identified the issue and proceeded with another round of lightening and coloring to fix the problem. Some 3 hours later and the results was amazing beyond my expectations.

I could see see streaks of my hair with varying purple intensities and it was mesmorizing to see how the colors change and reflect the light as the hair moves around. Mac once again took some more photos and videos and also graciously shared them with me. I in-turn shared them with my friends and they have also expressed amazement at the results.

All in all, my experience with Finesse Professional Salon has been a really positive one. They have talented english speaking stylist, a reasonable price, and great after sales service. I would definitely return to this salon if I was back in...

Absolutely blown away by the expertise and service of this salon. Matt is extremely knowledgeable about everything hair and I trusted his professional judgment the moment he told me that grey had violet tones when it fades. I was a very time consuming client: almost full head bleach and dye notoriously difficult/exotic/rare colors, all while making sure my grandmother with Alzheimer's doesn't escape the salon. We spent 10 hours at the shop. My grandma started falling asleep and Matt tucked her in with a blanket 🥹 Multiple clients came in for smaller jobs and Matt and his team of apprentices were able to juggle us all, magically timing those appointments to arrive during my hair's waiting periods.
