STAY AWAY - Worst experience of our holiday in Turkey!

We were told that the meat we ordered was going to be charged by weight. They even showed the prices per kilogram on the counter. Unfortunately, we received a bill where the meat was charged by piece at ridiculously high prices. Upon complaining we were surrounded by a number of men that started arguing with us - they were rude and unprofessional.

The meat was below average quality and the side dishes were low quality. The restaurant even tried to charge us for lamb chops that we ordered but never received - instead they served us with bloody liver meat.

Overall it was our worst experience in Turkey and we absolutely advise to stay away from this restaurant: unfriendly staff, bad food and a scam! There are plenty of way better restaurant options close by - Go somewhere else!

Once again, the most expensive meal in Kayakoy, & sadly not the best ! Only fancied meze as we had eaten at lunch time, so thought this was the place to go, as they have a good selection. Should have known better really, as having dined here on several occasions in the past, & it has always been expensive, but hey, we thought we would give it a go. The most expensive wine in the village, followed by the most expensive chips, & pretty much everything else we ordered ! Having shown a picture of the bill to a friend of ours who lives in Kaya, they also couldn't believe what we were charged for certain items. Do they have a separate menu for the Turkish customers, with different prices, who knows, but I'm sure they don't pay the prices we did when there is so much better value in the village than here ! Highly not recomended. Food is not cooked properly and waiters were very low level in problem solution. We ordered külbastı ans tandır, one of the stoves of tandır was unlit and for ten minutes they tried to lit it instead of changing it. Külbastı was cooked well-done. Then we ordered fries and it was uncooked. We cancelled the order since our appetite was gone. Another red flag was that they included the fries and unopened water bottles in the bill until we explained. I would definitely try the other famous tandır restaurant in Kayaköy next time.
