Had a great Meal at the Izela last night. When we got there we were stunned by the beautiful setting and ambience of the place itself. We were met by very happy and lovely staff. We were sat in a drinks area prior to our table. You are give a drinks menu and the food menu at this point. We ordered a bottle of the Dolce Neo (white wine) and our food.
Once we had ordered we were moved over to our table for dinner. We had ordered the turkish meze to start and this came out very quickly which was great as we were starving. The Meze was unbelievably good. Everything was so light and perfectly balanced.
We then had our starters. My girlfriend had the lamb shank which was the biggest lamb shank I have a seen and a good main course. I had the salmon and prawns which was one of the best dishes I have ever had. There were so many delightful flavours in this dish and it was perfectly balanced. I had a nice big piece of salmon and the prawns were big and juicy. I'm salivating just thinking about it again.
Service was great throughout. The restaurant itself is breathtaking and toilets were very well kept and nice. I could not fault this place. The only problem is we found it on our last night in Turkey! It was however a great end to...
Read moreI‘m 35, travelled a lot and I was rarely positively suprised by a restaurant like this in the last couple of years.
After reading the comments, I thought we had no chance to be served without a reservation, but no issue at all, we were kindly asked to sit down at the relax area, were served drinks and after choosing our food were moved to the dinner tables.
After we were served some appetizers and some side dishes, we thought thats again some hidden upselling..we were proven otherwise afterwards when we received our bill. No extra or hidden fees, everything was just thought as hospitaly as Im used to from the turkey 20 years ago.
Now, last but not least, the food….It was absolutely creative, tasty as like created by a gods or a magician and not as expected from such restaurants usually, portioned exactly the right amount.
I left Izela with my girl, smiling and happy. A perfect night under the stars. Thanks to the cook, all the staff and the owner for making this incredible experience possible.
P.S we paid around 900 TL for 2 beers, many side dishes, appetizers and two outstanding dishes....
Read moreWe have been coming to Izela for many years but last night has turned us away. Whilst the location is lovely, most of staff friendly, the manager did not deal with us kindly. When he took our orders, his demeanour felt unfriendly. Starters were fine but my main meal was tough and I couldn't eat it. We never complain and I don't like to make a fuss so only mentioned it to the manager when they cleared our plates. He took it away and told us it was fine - nothing wrong!! Got our bill and it was still on so asked for it to be taken off. Manager said no in an aggressive tone. After a heated debate he eventually did. We shouldn't have to ask, he should have accepted meal not good and refunded us without hesitation. Our daughter was considering booking her wedding there but not now. Also we asked for a taxi but after waiting half hour we had to ask manager again after noticing other guests leaving before us. He hadn't ordered taxi for us!!...
