Kars Cheese Museum in northeastern Turkey attracts great attention from locals and foreign tourists as it is 18th cheese museum in the world and the first in Turkey. When you go inside, they explain, especially Kars' cheeses, from its production to the sale process. There is a plateau section, a milking area and an endemic plant section. They have sections where they introduce Ottoman houses and Russian buildings. The exposition is concise and media-rich, a pleasant balance in my view. The installation is simply fantastic as they really went with the cheese theme. Both educational in depth and entertaining.
Great for children and large families alike for anybody who loves a nice both life size and miniature displays, local fauna and other miscellaneous bits of history of Kars.
