TMT SUPERMARKET — Local services in Kampala

It’s a small (family run?) supermarket business on Tank Hill in Muyenga. The security seems admirable, especially given that the establishment is by the roadside.

Pluses include a sizeable parking space right at the front of the business, a good deal of variety in terms of the products they sell, and serious professional staff.

The minuses include the below-average customer care performance especially from one particular security staff (the one taking people’s temperature). The staff inside are not particularly friendly either even though they’re better than the aforementioned man who sits right outside the business premises to receive shoppers on their way in.

We used to like going to this supermarket, but the last few months it has been a different shopping experience for us, the staff that used to work there have all been changed, they were such a friendly group of staff always polite and happy from the doorman and security to the cashiers they were all so nice but now it has all changed, the new staff there do not make you feel welcome, there are all miserable , today I bought 2 cartons of drinks and had to carry it myself, this would have never happened before, I am not sure if it has changed management but it has gone downhill real quick. It is sad and a shame because I used to do all my shopping...

The staff are really unprofessional, poor customer service by the staff. I made payment with Visa card however due to system failure, they made deduction twice from my account and they refused to refund my money even after presenting banks statement and SMS they refused to reverse the second payment even after presenting after engaging their so called manager Some of their items are really expensive compared to other bear by supermarkets. Vegetables are sometimes not fresh I wouldn’t recommend the store to anyone. They would need to work on their employees professionalism. Not friendly if you use cards for payments....
