Davy's Fish Bar — Local services in Aberdeen City

Never had a worse service or foodstuff in my life... the woman frier who was in charge was extremely rude. I'm sure the staff will remember I came in with my rather large white Service dog and was told bluntly that only blind dogs were allowed inside where I was picking up an order. No issues with her severe lack of knowledge on service dogs being only for blind people but her manners and being downright rude and nasty and embarrassing to be on end of her tongue. Took my service dog outside to my chum and got my order only to get back to my chums house which is local to find the order missing a mock chop of all things and it wasaid for only to be told if we wanted to come back and get it was outrageous to say least. Matters not went back embarrassing enough to get the food I've been charged for regretting not listening to a local on the chipper telling me its too expensive and chips are rubbish. I can agree that the chips were half cooked hard not soft, simply gross chips with curry sauce yuck. Whoever says this place is decent and nice must be family members of friends of this business because on my first experience here I would rate eating out at the skip as more decent than here but again I'll return and see if they have improved their service because I shouldn't base my whole rating on overall service from other staff who get tarred with the same brush as this bad egg. I've been coming to this chipper for over 25 years - I lived in Blackburn most of my youth and later when as an adult aged 30 I moved back to Bucksburn I came back here for a fond memory meal.

My god, I haven't had anything affect me as much as this meal had when I got my first bite. I was in the car as a child again, looking forward to seeing what was on the TV in 2007.

I love this chipper, have done since I was a child and they haven't lost their quality or decent pricing since I was young.

If anyone wanted to take a positive review of this place let it be this one - in quarter of a century Davy's has never strayed from their goal of delivering amazing food at a decent price since the late 90's/early 00's.

I love this place, I've been going here for 25 years and have loved every meal, despite the time-gap I'm glad I moved back here for it being so close it's great...

Went in at 9.50 pm and got told only what was left was available most of items were dried up with sitting in hot cabinet for long time was only able to get 2 portions of chips although I needed 4 portions got charged full price for food that was about ready to get thrown out and according to opening times it is open till 11pm overall a very dissapointing visit to davys fish bar. I have never known a chip shop to stop frying an hour and 10 minutes...
